    Post auto restart promlem

Yes, I'm still getting the random reboots. Biggest problem with mine still is that it crashes when charging. The bigger the charger power, the faster is crashes. If I trickle charge from USB, it's okay. I've found a 0.8A charger that is okay most of the time.

    Post Overheating issues

I've just noticed that the July update from Google has been released recently. Fingers crossed. When I say 20C I mean ambient temperature here in the UK... the phone itself gets *way* hotter. I know phones get hot when the CPU is stressed but my phone was sat by my side here outside (in the...

Same here - totally unstable even after June 5th update. Right now my phone is not responding. It randomly rebooted about 15 mins ago, still didn't response, manually restarted it, came back up but is now not responding again. I can't have this level of instability with my business phone. Going...

    Post Mi A3 Restart

Ended up here because my Mi A3 is becoming increasingly unstable. It rebooted three times around lunch time. I've just installed the May 2020 update and it's already restarted once already :( I'm going to have to consider returning it - my mobile is my main business phone too so can't have this...

    Post USB device not recognized

This must be a generic flaw with the Mi A1 as mine is doing exactly the same. I suspect it's the USB-C port itself as it's got steadily worse over the months. I have an Outlook task to remind me to backup my phone using FreeFileSync. Everything is backed up anyway to the cloud but I do like to...

    Post Bad Bluetooth Connection

Bluetooth headsets It sounds like that whilst the Mi A1 is a fine device that's excellent value for money, it's Bluetooth implementation isn't perfect. It works fine in my car (Seat) but I've got a cheap pair of in-ear headphones and I too have the problem with the sound spluttering and...

    Post Overall love

Don't normally rave about devices but after umming and ahhing for months whether to get this on import or wait for Motorola to fix the camera on the G5 Plus, I finally went for it. Never have I been happier with value for money. Bought it for the camera as my old HTC One M8 (which simply stopped...

Post Does Mi A1 support fast charging???

Appears to be some confusion over charging but there was some misleading (not quite fake) news last year that the Oreo update changed something. One of the beta's appears to have accidentally enabled quick charge (often called fast charge as well) but Xioami disabled it because they hadn't...

Thread Accidentally switching between email accounts

Ever since upgrading to WM6.5, I keep accidentally switching between email accounts when scrolling vertically through my list of emails. The left/right gesture is triggering when scrolling vertically. It's very annoying as you have to switch back and then scroll all the way back down. It's like...

Post Copilot 8 and win 6.5

Since I rebooted the Diamond2, it worked pretty well and didn't crash again. The iPhone really does get preferential treatment when it comes to apps :-) Microsoft really dropped the ball on this one - apps & WM in general that is, not just CoPilot. Cheers, Rob.

Post Copilot 8 and win 6.5

I've just installed CoPilot 8 after removing CoPilot 7 from the Settings control panel. I must say, it's a little bit flaky - it's crashed many times since installation although re-powering seems to have helped. Cheers, Rob.

    Post ActiveSych through Wifi

Sync over wifi was removed from ActiveSync a while back for security reasons: http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archive/2006/11/08/wifi-did-you-do-that.aspx Also, Direct Push only works over mobile wireless due to the power drain over WiFi. Or something like that. Cheers, Rob.

Post Why has my Diamond2 started showing a slideshow when idle?

Finally an answer from the Microsoft mobile forum. It's a setting on the pictures and video applet to display a slideshow when plugged into a PC. The reason I couldn't find it was because you have to scroll down the menu to find the options entry. This is one (of a few) things I don't like about...

Post Strange Repllog.exe error. Please help!!

It is improved in WM6.5 but still not 100% perfect. Also there's a bug in the schedule feature. I've just been to Egypt on holiday and most definately changed my ActiveSync to "Manual" for both peak time and off-peak as I didn't a) want to run up £7.50/MB roaming or b) be bother by work emails...

Post How to make wifi the default option to connect instead of gprs?

Yes please... I was about to post the same issue. I think the precedence in WM6.5 of using mobile wireless over WiFi is the wrong way around if the WiFi signal is strong. In my house, my WiFi is strong everywhere but 3G comes and goes. It's darn annoying to get the message about "No...

Post For how long D2 battery lasts?

I find the D2 battery life on WM6.5 much improved. I seemed to be always charging it but now, it's less critical. Also, with all transmitters turned off, the lifetime is pretty good. My phone was on for a week on holiday and the battery was 90% by the end of the week having turned the mobile on...

    Post Battery charging

It's not an error as such - all it means is that your Diamond2 is discharging faster than it can charge. The reason it tends to occur more when connected via USB/Sync is that a) the charge power via USB from your laptop is lower than using a dedicated charger and b) ActiveSync keeps the screen...

Post Why has my Diamond2 started showing a slideshow when idle?

The automatic lock is on Settings, All Settings, Lock. Just had a look and there's nothing on there that looks like slideshow. Thread Battery charging

I think battery charging is faster esp. when in a cradle. Before, I could leave my phone in the cradle all day at work and it would never fully recharge. Can't re-send failed SMS messages This was a problem with 6.1 as well but they appear to have made it even worse in 6.5. When an SMS message fails to send due to no signal, you get a message saying so. The message then ends up in draft messages. Now first of all this is pretty poor design...

My battery life certainly feels much better. I've been messing about with WM 6.5 for about an hour. In the past, my battery would have taken a hammering. So far, it's at 80%!! That's *way* better. I like it - it's so much more responsive. Okay, so it's not a radical change and there are still...
