Just bought a g2 and am thinking of rooting to enable the auto hide of the on screen menu buttons. So correct me if im wrong but if all i do is root, leave the stock rom and do nothing apart from root i will still get ota updates.

Can i put the md5 file on the phone and flash via cwm ??

I rooted my note 3 but now want to flash the latest firmware however every time i try to do it via odin it keeps failing. Anyone know why this is happening ........:confused:

You need to boot into recovery. Volume up.... Home and power all together. From there you need to do a full wipe factory reset. That will get you past the Samsung logo. It's the only way I found. Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app

I got sick of waiting so instslled the latest stock rekease lh9. So much smoother,only gripe is smart keyboard keeps force closing. The stock keyboard seems fine though so will do for now. I havent come across any other issues yet. Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app

I unrooted my phone in preperation for jelly bean. Once I've installed it I'm rooting again though. You can disable apps but rooting gives you more options to freeze apps via titanium. Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app

I have just got a s3 on t mobile which is sim locked to them. Not bothered about that but can i flash the older lf2 firmware and update via kies. I know the lf2 was an unbranded firmware so im not sure if it would be ok to flash that one.

Ijust downloaded the latest uk t mob firmware as im unrooting my phone. However when i load the tar.md5 file in odin it satys the parametres are incorrect. Anyone have any ideas.

Kies wasn't running when I started Odin. I didn't kill the process. It worked fir root OK and I didn't kill the process then. Perhaps I just didn't leave it long enough.

Yes mate. The PDA tar file. I left it ant ten minutes but it still stayed yellow. Should I have left it longer? Thanks.

I put the phone in download mode, started odin and connected phone. Loaded the LF2 image, however the colour wont change from yellow to blue to show odin is ready to flash. I have the drivers installed as it detects the device and i previously used odin to root the phone. Anyone have any idead...

I dont mate. I foolishly rooted it without making a note. Im happy with it as is, but im just thinking in the case of warranty etc i would flash it back to stock if ever required.

I have a rooted s3 on t mobile. Forgive my ignorance, but if i wanted to flash it back to stock which of the roms would i use. Any help is appreciated.

I have the official mesh case for the s3, the little coin stand is great for watching movies.
