Apologies for the stupid question, but doesn't Odin root the device and trip Knox? The wiki page says rooting is neither necessary nor recommended, so am a little confused.

Sighs. Was all going so well and this morning had two reboots in quick succession. For some reason the 01/08 version felt the most stable to me. Anyhow. Both reboots occurred while I was reading pdfs (ezPDF). Strange, because that has never happened before.

So, as the thread title suggests, I'm looking for an office suite which doesn't TOTALLY screw up a .doc (Word) file with footnotes. I just discovered that both Kingsoft office and Google Drive are TERRIBLE at handling .doc files with footnotes (all my footnotes were wiped, extremely annoying)...

I;m getting very good 'sleep' battery (with Wifi off). Reading is still pretty much the same, drain to about 50% after 3-4 hours of reading.

I've tried both the caseen glareshatter and the greatshield ultra antiglare ones. They're quite cheap and pretty decent, as well as easy to apply (depending on how competent/dextrous you are :) ). I've been thinking of going with the armorsuit military shield ones, they've got very good reviews...

It's actually very easy once you start doing it :). Don't be overwhelmed, take it step by step and you'll be fine. The forums here are full of helpful people and most issues have been sorted out. I managed (using leapinlar's excellent thread) to get it done in a short time.

Just to chime in support of Class 4 SanDisk cards. My 16GB one is rock solid. I tried a Class 10 32GB for a couple of days, but went back to the Class 4.

I bought the Nook HD+ for the same reason. The N10 screen issues, plus the fact that 7" is a bit too small for PDFs, made it my choice. Uptil now, I have no complaints, it's a great screen to read on. I have a 'matte' screen protector and brightness turned way down, and it really comes close to...

The caseen's are decent, but are a pain to put on (I am horrendously clumsy so always end up with some dust/misalignment/whatever). Will try the full body one recommended above.

I've updated to 2.0.6 and have had no issues booting from SD (CM10, SanDisk Class 4 16GB)

It shows as 14% on the battery. The sleep battery life is still excellent, I only lose around 1-2% overnight, it's the actual reading which seems to kill the battery fast, though that may just be a CM10 issue. Not sure. Thanks for all your updates!

Hmmm, that sounds interesting. May try it out over the weekend and see if I can get the same (or close) battery results. 19% drain after 16 hours is truly phenomenal, I go through about 60-70% in about 12-14 hours of use.

You won't be able to copy to the CM10SDCARD partition in Windows. You'll either need to use a linux live-cd (I use ubuntu) in a virtual machine (like virtualbox, which is free) and use that to copy the files, or set up adb to copy directly to the hd+. Leapinlar has a thread detailing how to...

I've been using a SanDisk class4 16GB, with almost no issues. Got my first reboot today, tablet woke from sleep, entered gmail and boom! :( But overall extremely smooth and stable.

Installed on the 21st. So that's about four days with no reboots. What I have noticed is that ezPDF has been crashing a lot after the new image. Didn't crash so much before I installed the 1/19 version. Could be an app problem though.

I've been using the 1/19 with Nova (not prime, the free version) and have had no reboots so far. Fingers crossed.

On the HD+, I have the same behaviour with CM 10. Auto-wake functions fine, but autosleep doesn't. I just use the power button to sleep.

I've been using the amPen one as well, and it's quite useful for highlighting and general tapping. It doesn't work so well with Write (as you pointed out) for me either. Where are you ordering the jot pro from?
