Post [SM-T320] CyanogenMod 11.0 Nightlies for the Tab Pro 8.4 Wifi (mondrianwifi)

Thanks crpalmer, that was very helpful. I'll just go ahead with Odin, stock Samsung is getting on my nerves. Knox is really not a problem. Apologies for the stupid questions!

I don't need Knox, just trying to interfere minimally with the tablet. Will use Odin than. Thanks!

Post [SM-T320] CyanogenMod 11.0 Nightlies for the Tab Pro 8.4 Wifi (mondrianwifi)

Apologies for the stupid question, but doesn't Odin root the device and trip Knox? The wiki page says rooting is neither necessary nor recommended, so am a little confused.

Does anyone have a solution to this? I'm running into the same problems as well, and would like to avoid rooting. Thanks!

Post [HOW TO]Root the Tab Pro 8.4 and 10.1

Thanks kenhicg! So I should stick with stock rooted until CM gets all the bugs ironed out. If you don't mind, could you tell me what you're uninstalling in order to get the smoothness back?

Post [HOW TO]Root the Tab Pro 8.4 and 10.1

Hello all, just got a Tab Pro 8.4 from Best Buy the other day (pretty cheap and was on the lookout for a new tablet). I'm loving the screen, and it feels very comfortable to use. I just wanted to ask those who had rooted and switched to CM or another custom ROM, whether it was worth it. Any...

Post Nook HD+ CM10 development (sdcard) updated 5/11

Sighs. Was all going so well and this morning had two reboots in quick succession. For some reason the 01/08 version felt the most stable to me. Anyhow. Both reboots occurred while I was reading pdfs (ezPDF). Strange, because that has never happened before.

Post please help me root my nook hd 2.0.6

    1. I am using the 16GB, Class 4 SandDisk card. Generally speaking, the SanDisk Class 4 ones seem to be the most stable and give the best results (most people on the forum use them). Either 16 or 32 GB should be fine. 2. It depends on which method of 'rooting' you use. If you want to 'root'...

Post [Q] Nook HD, HD+ Ubuntu

Well, I don't know if anyone is working on this, but Canonical put this out today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=h384z7Ph0gU It's a dev version for Ubuntu on Nexus7/10. So the basic idea is definitely around. On the Nook HD is a different idea altogether...

    Thread Office suite with footnotes

So, as the thread title suggests, I'm looking for an office suite which doesn't TOTALLY screw up a .doc (Word) file with footnotes. I just discovered that both Kingsoft office and Google Drive are TERRIBLE at handling .doc files with footnotes (all my footnotes were wiped, extremely annoying)...

I;m getting very good 'sleep' battery (with Wifi off). Reading is still pretty much the same, drain to about 50% after 3-4 hours of reading.

    Post Nook HD+ Cases

I've tried both the caseen glareshatter and the greatshield ultra antiglare ones. They're quite cheap and pretty decent, as well as easy to apply (depending on how competent/dextrous you are :) ). I've been thinking of going with the armorsuit military shield ones, they've got very good reviews...

It's actually very easy once you start doing it :). Don't be overwhelmed, take it step by step and you'll be fine. The forums here are full of helpful people and most issues have been sorted out. I managed (using leapinlar's excellent thread) to get it done in a short time.

Just to chime in support of Class 4 SanDisk cards. My 16GB one is rock solid. I tried a Class 10 32GB for a couple of days, but went back to the Class 4.

The screen really is excellent. I have disabled page turning animations, will try the gpu rendering option, thanks for the tip! I'm running CM10 from the SD card, which is excellent (except for battery, as I mentioned, I get around 30% drain in 3-4 hours reading). But I used Leapinlar's thread...

Post Nook HD+ and large PDF (900 pages+) performance?

I bought the Nook HD+ for the same reason. The N10 screen issues, plus the fact that 7" is a bit too small for PDFs, made it my choice. Uptil now, I have no complaints, it's a great screen to read on. I have a 'matte' screen protector and brightness turned way down, and it really comes close to...

The caseen's are decent, but are a pain to put on (I am horrendously clumsy so always end up with some dust/misalignment/whatever). Will try the full body one recommended above.

Post Nook HD+ CM10 development (sdcard) updated 5/11

It shows as 14% on the battery. The sleep battery life is still excellent, I only lose around 1-2% overnight, it's the actual reading which seems to kill the battery fast, though that may just be a CM10 issue. Not sure. Thanks for all your updates!

Post Nook HD+ CM10 development (sdcard) updated 5/11

I've been running Avast and had only a couple of reboots with the 01/19 version. The 01/08 version has been rock solid (last 2 days) since my wipe and new install (SanDisk 16GB Class 4). But my battery life while reading still kind of sucks (lost 25% in 2-3 hours). My thinking on the battery is...

Wow, sounds good. Although a lot of the reviews on Amazon mention the micro-scratches this thing causes. see, http://www.amazon.com/Adonit-Dampening-Stylus-iPhone-Tablets/dp/B00931K1QK/ref=dp_ob_title_ce Are you using a screen protector of some sort?

Post Nook HD+ CM10 development (sdcard) updated 5/11

Hmmm, that sounds interesting. May try it out over the weekend and see if I can get the same (or close) battery results. 19% drain after 16 hours is truly phenomenal, I go through about 60-70% in about 12-14 hours of use.

Post Nook HD+ CM10 development (sdcard) updated 5/11

Wow! Thanks for the great info. So this would suggest that the 01/08 zip is giving better battery results? Has anyone else experienced this also? Am getting a bit worried about the battery drain on the 01/19 zip. I've gone from 90% to 63% in 2 hours of pdf reading. Is that normal?

    Post [Q] HD+ installing CM10

You won't be able to copy to the CM10SDCARD partition in Windows. You'll either need to use a linux live-cd (I use ubuntu) in a virtual machine (like virtualbox, which is free) and use that to copy the files, or set up adb to copy directly to the hd+. Leapinlar has a thread detailing how to...

Installed on the 21st. So that's about four days with no reboots. What I have noticed is that ezPDF has been crashing a lot after the new image. Didn't crash so much before I installed the 1/19 version. Could be an app problem though.

I've been using the 01/20 one without too many problems. One thing, though it may be unrelated, is that ezPDF has started crashing when highlighting.
