Got a new cord and it works! It was on sale for 50% off as well. :) Guess I broke the cord by usinng the wrong adapter. Anyway the specs are actually something like 5.1V 2A, and the one I used was 5V .7A. Ouch. Thanks anyways!

I have the same prob I have the same problem, but with my Nook HD (not HD+). I used a different adapter at one point because I lost my Nook adapter. This may have caused the problem for me.

Is there a way to modify the 1.4.3 software update to make it allow sideloaded apps. Maybe editing downloadadmin.apk will do it? I'm not a developer so please keep the solution simple.

Can I add ONLY files to my nook color to add a new TTS Voice? I do not want to install a app as this would involve rooting.

Actually now I believe it is only writable and copy-able (you can copy it to the sdcard and other directories). No modifying or deleting. Still it's an interesting way to see your files.

I have 1g data/5g media Data being b&n content. The apps just wont download afer 40-50 percent of b&n content is used. They go through the process of downloading and installing only to display the download button again after that.

Open Explorer is an app for NOOKcolor which is in beta, but it gives you access to system files and lets you edit them! This is perfecr if you don't want to root your Nook to get root access.

I was thinking that, if the NOOK knows what apps come from the store and which ones don't, when you try to install an un-B&N app, there must be a line of code somewhere in the .apk file. Would it be possible t add that certain line of code (anybody know what it is?) and masqurade it as a B&N app?
