Post EMUI 10.1 is really close.

Hopefully, this will be the last time I post lol, but I think I've finally found the real cause of the problem. After hooking up "adb logcat", I seeing that the "powergenie" app was spamming the log with thousands of crashes. It appears that is what was hogging all the background CPU. All of...

Post EMUI 10.1 is really close.

I'm going to try doing a factory reset of my phone after I back up everything. Something is still very screwed up about 50% of the time. I can't even zoom smoothly in Google maps anymore.

Post EMUI 10.1 is really close.

Unfortunately there are still some times throughout the day where it will get laggy. The intermittent nature of the problem is probably because it's related to scheduling of background processes. I really wish we could see detailed cpu stats on nom-rooted phones.

Post EMUI 10.1 is really close.

Yes. But when I woke up this morning, my phone was slow again! I noticed that there was message about "Play Protect" being on, so I opened the settings and see that it's scanning is enabled (I had always kept this disabled before the update). Within 30 seconds of disabling it, my phone is now...

Post EMUI 10.1 is really close.

Omg I fixed it. It's sooo much faster now, completely back to normal. The solution was to disable all of the autoscans in the Huawei "Optimizer" app. Ahhh feels so much better now.

Post EMUI 10.1 is really close.

For me it's gotten really bad. It feels like the CPU is running at 20% of normal speed. Everything I do is so much slower. Even something as simple as turning on and off the flashlight is now delayed. Is there a safe way to downgrade back to 10. 0?

Post EMUI 10.1 is really close.

After using 10.1 for a full day, I can say for certain that everything is laggier: swiping back, swiping down on the status bar, bringing up the keyboard, tapping buttons in any app. I'm very disappointed.

Post EMUI 10.1 is really close.

I just installed 10.1 and am disappointed. It seems that disabling animations in the dev options no loner works. There are now animations every time I change windows which makes it sluggish. It may be my imagination, Firefox also feels slower.

    Post Wayland server for Android

Is there any chance Sparkle will work on an Android device that can't be rooted? I've upgraded my tablet to one that's much faster, but sadly lost Xwayland support. I'm using Xsdl, but the keyboard support is so buggy it's driving me crazy.

Post Current root situation for EVR-L29?

I agree that it is an almost perfect phone, but I also use it for some development work with a Bluetooth keyboard while plugged into a USB-C monitor. There are a few cases where I'd like to have raw access to the network interfaces with wireshark as well as being able to configure a few...

Thread Current root situation for EVR-L29?

I haven't seen much discussion of rooting in the last year. Is it as simple as unlocking and installing Magisk? I've been putting off upgrading to EMUI 10. Should I stay with 9.1? Can I upgrade before or after unlocking/rooting and still have root? I see this website is still advertising...

    Post Wayland server for Android

tillum it's not a mouse, but my bluetooth keyboard has a track point and three buttons (left, middle, and right click) that all worked properly without any changes. It doesn't have a scroll wheel, so not sure if that's working.

Are you able to start something simple like xterm without any window manager running? The error seems like it is specific to xfce4, maybe related to dbus.

    Post Wayland server for Android

It's a big difference to me. I'm currently using my tablet for remote development work on a daily basis and it's working really well. I'm using dwm, xterm with mosh, firefox, libreoffice, and zathura. I had tried doing that with VNC a while ago, but gave up after 30 seconds. It was much too...

    Post Wayland server for Android

tillum I basically just followed the instructions on the first post for using Sparkle without busybox. I didn't need to modify the Lua scripts. I'm guessing SELinux may be a problem without root. I'll try setting it up without root when I have a chance later.

Thanks for the new release! I've updated and everything seems to be working without any changes on my Samsung Tab S3 with chroot and Arch Arm Linux. Your changes also solved the flickering for me! The old version would flicker the screen whenever my keyboard's trackpoint activated, but it's...

I now have it working very well on my Samsung Tab S3 using Xwayland and a tiling window manager. Firefox runs amazingly well! Is it meant to be used only with Xwayland or will it also work with native Wayland applications? BTW, I think if you open sourced this project and promoted it a bit...

If you're referring to my post, please accept my apology. Any frustration that I expressed was directed at Google/Android for limiting our control over the networking interfaces. I didn't mean to insult your work on NetGuard. I think it's amazing what you've been able to make it do without...

Post Which cell is just as good as the 20x mate?

I honestly don't think there are any as good. I didn't want to buy a Huawei because I'd much rather have an unlocked bootloader, but for me, the big screen, active pen, big battery, and fast cpu are too important to give up. If you don't mind a slower CPU and no pen, but still want the huge...

It appears to me that some internet traffic is leaking through when the phone is locked, even for apps that are marked to always be blocked. Can anyone else reproduce? I've tested with two apps: 1. In Chrome type any word (not a URL) in the search bar. Lock the phone. Unlock after a couple...
