Post [G973F] [DTJA] [November] links for official updates S10 Exynos

Update is now available in UK. I'm on Vodafone and received it this morning. So far all good but will be testing battery life over the next few days. Would be good to get better battery life from my S10, here's hoping it brings that.

Post Bye, Apple... Welcome back, beloved Android! -- Doubts inside!

"Multitasking - Multitasking has been way better implemented by Apple, meaning that surfing through the apps that are opened feels more fluid and natural with an iPhone. Is there any way to change this? To make it better than it currently is?" If you've switched to a Samsung device then check...

Post S8 Pie OneUI (SM-G950F /G955F) General Discussion (Formally beta thread)

So far its working exactly the same as in beta 1 (power saving icon only visible once you swipe down, and clock not showing am/pm indicator) but I don't mind this at all. I can see the status bar changes are probably a result of the impending S10 series with the infinity O displays, as they're...

Post S8 Pie OneUI (SM-G950F /G955F) General Discussion (Formally beta thread)

Beta 2 is awesome so far. Iris scanner now works flawlessly and they've removed the intelligent scan option (didn't work in beta 1 anyway). Other than that they've improved the lag and it's now snappy and responsive. Well worth trying out.

Post S8 Pie OneUI (SM-G950F /G955F) General Discussion (Formally beta thread)

Erm, no you don't need to go back to Oreo. I was part of the Oreo beta and when the final version was released I receiced an OTA update of the final Oreo build. It was a smaller build than the one my partner received on her S8 (same day btw) but definitely came OTA.

I don't know about downgrade, but once they finished the beta and pushed the first official Oreo update it all worked perfectly.

Post S8 Pie OneUI (SM-G950F /G955F) General Discussion (Formally beta thread)

This is normal as it's a beta, they did the same thing with the Oreo beta too. Samsung Pay and Google pay only worked once they released the final binary.

Not sure if it's the update or the fact that I've now disabled Bixby using package disabler, but battery drain is noticeably improved. Android System is far down now, was previously much higher. Will watch it over the next couple of days, but looking good so far.

Post Okay... What is up With my Battery Life?

The latest update seems to have caused this. Mine was affected too, but found a hard reset and careful managing of apps has helped. But still not as good as battery life on Nougat. Hoping the October patch will fix this....whenever that gets released.

Guys, for anyone experiencing high drain from the latest update, please check your display settings. Whilst watching some content on YouTube I decided to try the full resolution of the screen to see if it improves the video I was watching, only to find it was already set to WQHD. Not sure if...

Yup, haven't even needed to check SOT times as the drain is quite noticeable. Gonna give it a few cycles to see if it settles down.

Wow, are you sure you ordered the right one? This doesn't even look like the same packaging. If they claim it is, then rightly so you should request a refund. I assure you the one I ordered and received fit perfectly, and it's on my device to this very day. Will post some pics later

Updated from CRC7 and very pleased indeed. Not only am I seeing stronger WiFi signals but it fixed a small bug with the iris scanner where after the previous update it was really slow to recognise my irises (if at all) All working nice and speedy again now. Will check over the next few days...

Post Tempered glass touch sensitivity - the truth?

Yes it really is full screen adhesive, and yes it really is glass.........but.......it is some sort of glass/plastic composite, which has the hardness of tempered glass (so no, you can't scratch it), but a little elasticity and flex like plastic, which is actually needed to fit the protector to...

Try this, cheap and just as effective as the Whitestone one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Samsung-G...53.m2749.l2649 No UV drying and curing of glue. Works like a proper glass screen protector, but with adhesive on the entire glass. So no problems with clarity, sensitivity or the need for the...

    Post Best S8 screen protector

Ok so after many months and almost every possible type and brand, I think I've found my middle ground. Yes the Whitestone SP is perhaps the best looking out of all available but its not perfect (i.e, complex installation, expensive etc) but recently found these on ebay, and they are a full...

Couldn't agree more with your sentiments. None of us owed anything from the developer of this port, therefore, I am extremely grateful, for what he has provided thus far. If further improvements come along, then that's even more reason to be thankful! Let's just try and keep all of that in...

Post Google Camera with working portrait mode V8.2

Just chiming in on the whole hardware aspect, I was under the impression that the pixel 2 gained it's depth information from utilising the dual pixel system where it measures differences between two pixels when taking a photo. I was also under the impression that the S8's camera also utilises...

Hi guys, S8 on EE UK, just received 2nd beta, installed and all working well. I can whole heartedly recommend these ones: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XY7K875/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They are the film variety, but PET film, so no rubbery feel. These also benefit from being slightly curved at the edges (much like the TGSP's) so fit...

    Post S8, HTC U11 or LG G6

Yeah I too had this decision to make, and considering I'm a photographer, the camera was always going to be one of the key deciding factors. My choices (at the time) were, LG G6, Pixel XL and the S8. After going back and forth over specs and testing different devices I decided on the S8...

Post Bought a 5 pack of tempered glass guards that may or not be good

Out of curiosity I too ordered these SPECIFICALLY because they do not curve. Nah!) so would like to see how this one performs and...
