    Post [APPS] Google's Cameras Ports [2 VERSIONS][HDR+][PORTRAIT MODE][DISCONTINUED]

It's a shame. I can understand that decision. Xda is more and more becoming a toxic place for everyone. People keep pressuring developers and giving nothing in return. Moreover they are spamming the threads with questions, that could have easily been answered by reading one or two sides on the...

    Post [S8/S8+][Oreo][S9+ Port][01-Jan-2020][v30] LightROM

That's not OK! It should be very clear that this behaviour is not ok. Do another full wipe during the installation. Make sure you only debloat things you know what they are used for. If this doesn't help maybe you have to use a different rom

Post [Tutorial][8.0+] How to Install Good Lock 2018

Oh damn, this app is awesome! I didn't think much of it, when I read about it here on xda a few weeks ago, but now that I tried it... I love the routines and other customizations. Never thought that Samsung would release this for old devices. Best thing about it: via routines you can have your...

    Post [APPS] Google's Cameras Ports [2 VERSIONS][HDR+][PORTRAIT MODE][DISCONTINUED]

Its modified especially for the S8 exynos and working very well on my device. Keep in mind that portrait mode doesn't work on objects, only with faces. You have to use lens blur mode for objects. Read the FAQ from op, it helps in most situations.

And that's why you always make a backup. But honestly, something seems deeply messed up. You should probably flgo completely stock via Odin and only then install twrp and a custom rom.

The latest bootloader prevents you from downgrading to older software. Only a nandroid backup can install an older bootloader, which you did. Don't know why your fresh install didn't work though. Try with a full wipe. Maybe update modem and bootloader via Odin before installing the rom

It's important to report stuff like this. Maybe an update breaks something. But I agree that if an update is out for several weeks and you are the first one to experience bad battery life, it's probably not the update. Especially if you are coming from nougat to oreo for the first time it takes...

OK, the conversation are getting a little bit ridiculous and not constructive at all. Maybe you should describe clearly what is your problem with Bixby. I don't think you told us what the problem actually is, other than it isn't working correctly. So instead of demanding a video of working...

Try the search in this thread. Every two days someone gets the Oreo update and asks about it... By now I'm not sure if people who are asking this are just trolling. You have to disable "enable_camera_micro" in the developer settings of the camera.

    Post [S8/S8+][Oreo][S9+ Port][01-Jan-2020][v30] LightROM

Just boot into twrp and flash the ROM again with a full wipe. Or a different ROM. Or if nothing helps, flash a stock ROM via Odin. Problem solved.

I know it's not really secure, but the other smart lock options aren't secure either. And I read some tutorials for Tasker, bit it seemed overly complicated plus I think it would have a noticeable impact on batterylife.

https://www.xda-developers.com/smart-lock-trusted-places-disappearing/ Yep, they removed it completely. I wish they would implement a solution that it stays unlocked when connected to a trusted WiFi. Had this once via xposed module, but this doesn't work since nougat. :(

I want to revert back to stock cam, but my titanium backup fails to install my backup. Also tried to flash zero camera mod via twrp. Installs successfully, but after boot up there still is the j4/S9 cam. Do I have to reflash my rom, or is there another way?

    Post Advice from Sony-experts

Well, if you are only using root and custom ROMs after support has ended, you do not have to worry about that for the next two years (maybe three considering security updates). Sony is in the Top3 Android-Manufacturers then it comes to Softwaresupport. So, after two years you won't have any...

No, your phone will not be rooted by flashing a stock firmware via Odin. Only if you flash a pre-rooted firmware and/or a custom recovery you will loose some Samsung features. Also flashing a firmware via Odin is pretty easy. So if read the instructions carefully and have the correct firmware...

As far as I know, there will be no rainbow ring effect, when using live hdr. So this will solve your problem. But like I said, I prefer pictures without live hdr. I usually don't have a big problem with this effect. Whenever I notice it, I simply take the picture again and set the focus...

    Post [APPS] Google's Cameras Ports [2 VERSIONS][HDR+][PORTRAIT MODE][DISCONTINUED]

You can try both things and use what looks better to you. I however think, that livehdr produces too much noise and the dynamic range suffers a bit. It only helps when you are experiencing a rainbow ring effect on your photos and can't get rid of it. So I usually do not use live hdr

It's against the rules on xda to ask for a releasedate, because it's pressuring the developers. You could have just read the last few pages on this thread to know what's going on.
