That makes sense, yes. The movements could be similar. There's been a growing trend of software assuming lots of things. Maybe if they asked questions they'd be smarter.

Post [Q] Disable Google Now "Travel To" and "Weather" Notifications

This has now started to annoy me a bit too. The amount of times I glance down and think I've got a notification, only to find that it's telling me the weather outside the window I'm sitting next to. The "travel to" is sometimes interesting, since it seems to pick up routines, but my life is...

It was a rock and roll gig, so my hands were probably moving a lot. I'll check again shortly, since I've had very little experience with these types of things. I'd kind of assumed it was collaborating with phone data to make the information more reliable. That being said, I'm happy to...

I also noted last week that if I play the piano, the Zenwatch seems to think I'm walking. Played a gig on Friday night and it thought I'd spent two hours walking my legs off.

Post Alternative Straps for Asus ZenWatch

You can search for Deployment Clasps. They're quite common on watch band websites. Normally in an "Accessories" section. You can also reuse the supplied clasp if your replacement band tapers to the correct width.

Popped into PC World yesterday on the off-chance that the store delivery had happened but the email hadn't gone out. The Zenwatch was there waiting so I picked it up and am good to go. Several emails turned up shortly afterwards. Picked up a different strap (large wrist) and fitted it last...

Yep. I didn't know whether I'd be at work or home because of holidays so store collection seemed easier. Pot luck though, we'll see. In theory though, yours gets here today - whoop!

    Post UK Release Date

There's the usual "US prices exclude tax" and cost of doing business in the UK, but when you can buy, ship and import something from the US in a few days, and noticeably cheaper then something's not right somewhere. Hopefully Asus realise a pricing mistake like in the US and rectify. PC World...

There's a couple of articles online now. This one specifically says it's online only initially http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tech/news/a617177/asus-zenwatch-to-launch-in-the-uk-on-december-23.html#~oYMJfyhjV5FjS6

    Post UK Release Date

Expansys have changed from a "keep me notified" page to a pre-order page. I don't know whether that's due to a site relaunch (can't recall whether I've seen that design before), or whether it's changing. BTW, for a while now, I haven't seen Simply listed on the Google Shopping page when...

Post [Q] Incoming call blank contact photo

HTC have tended to use their own contact system on top of stock Android (linking contacts together, pulling photos from various sources). However, this data extra isn't saved to your Google contacts (except for some META data in contact notes). I'm assuming that Wear gets its info from your...

    Post cradle charger

Extra cradles would be very handy What might also be nice is a cradle-less charger option - just a USB lead with a magnetic plug similar to the Pebble. It would certainly make it easier for travelling. Or even better if somebody released a micro-usb -> Zenwatch plug adapter, so you could use...

Noticed this morning that Simply Electronics list this on their site for £184.95. Also that they've got 5 in stock and make no mention of it being imported. Considering a UK launch date or price hasn't been announced (that I know of) I'd be very sceptical. UPDATE: A glance at some Google...

    Post New replacement band

Thanks for that. For clarification, the band tapers from 22mm at the watch end to 18mm at the buckle on the original band, yes? I'll try shopping locally, but there's not so much around where I live. I had thought about the spring clips, since they've got that quick removal lever, which...

    Post New replacement band

Great job, well done - I was hoping somebody would post with a black band - looks nice. From what I understand of after-market bands and clasps is that a lot of buckles are attached with a similar pin that attaches the band to the watch. Pop that off and you can fit a deployment clasp (like...

    Post [Q] Band/Strap Size?

Thank you. After having a look, a lot of the places that sell straps also sell "deployment clasps" (a new term for me). An after-market option that replaces the buckle of a strap with a unit that then slots into one of the holes. They seem to be fairly universal and, whilst possibly not being...

    Post [Q] Band/Strap Size?

Thanks for that guys - looks like an after-market strap. I don't suppose the Asus clasp can be redeployed onto a different strap, do you think? I've seen similar accessories out there, but I don't know much about that sort of thing.

    Thread [Q] Band/Strap Size?

Slightly random question, but can anybody with the Zenwatch advise on how large the strap is? As in, what size wrist it'll accommodate? My wrists are stupidly large (don't ask, I have no idea), so I'm wondering whether I'll need to swap the band out. They''re about 220mm (about 8.6 in)...

Since the fairly recent updates to Google Maps I've not been able to get it to work properly under Car Mode. I use Car Mode fairly often, unfortunately. For example: - If I set a route up, go to the home page, put some music/internet radio on, back to home page and press Navigation it clears...

That's why I went unbranded. The NFC thing might mean that they're gearing up for contactless payments on the One X and the person you spoke to got confused. They're a jack-of-all-trades customer service, having to support many different handsets but none very well.

Post JellyBean - OTA/ETA's - Confirmed JB Updates [RUU Update Method Included]!!!

Interesting. Do you think it's an intentional delay by HTC, or an oversight? They might be making sure the big update has propagated before opening the floodgates with the smaller update? Or, they might have forgotten.

Here's what I did... Go into Settings, Accounts & Sync, Click on my Googlemail / Gmail account, select Remove. This obviously removes all google stuff from your system. It's all backed up in the cloud though. The next bit, I can't be sure, but I'll update when I find the procedure. What I...

Post JellyBean - OTA/ETA's - Confirmed JB Updates [RUU Update Method Included]!!!

As mentioned, I'd avoid doing this. Last time I tried that it messed up my Play Store settings. I had to remove my Google Account and recreate it - too much hassle.

Post HTC One X Jellybean Discussions Thread.

That seems like a backwards step to me. I've been able to do that for years on lots of handsets, and it's meant that I don't have to carry a USB key. I don't want to have to install sync software on every machine that I want to use.

Where did they say that? All I've seen is that HTC UK said Jelly Bean was rolling out, which it was. Personally I haven't seen any mention of localisation from them.

Post JellyBean - OTA/ETA's - Confirmed JB Updates [RUU Update Method Included]!!!

The first page also states that if the cid is listed, but you haven't got it yet, you will. If somebody has any news, they will post it. It is a lot more annoying having people post the same questions repeatedly when everything that is currently known is listed. If it is not listed, it's not known.

Kind of a mixed thing to me. For most of the time (when you're browsing normally), you've just lost a portion of your display. I'd rather have full screen myself.

I used "might" as a possible suggestion. The original roll out was delayed because bugs were found, no? Apparently anyway.

Read the first post. Also, they might save the larger rollouts in case any bugs are found and fixed.
  46. C

Although the tweet came from the UK, it made no mention of a UK release. JB was rolling out worldwide.
  47. C

Post HTC One X Jellybean Discussions Thread.

Potentially, but I think that's more of a "please allow 28 days for delivery" type clause, when you know your parcel will turn up the next day. Once it's out, it'll be pretty much out for everybody.
  48. C

Post HTC One X Jellybean Discussions Thread.

No. As mentioned before, you should get the update within 45 days of it being rolled out for your device. Not all devices. So, when HTC__001 starts officially in the UK, everyone should have access to it within 45 days.
  49. C

Post HTC One X Jellybean Discussions Thread.

Try clearing some space? From what I can work out, the handset doesn't like being full (or maybe takes a long while to rebuild the file structure). My ICS slows right down if I put too much on it.

Post JellyBean - OTA/ETA's - Confirmed JB Updates [RUU Update Method Included]!!!

People got their updates not because of where they were, but where the handset was originally intended for (as I understand it), based on the imei number.
