Thanks! Booting the first time took a while, maybe 10 minutes. After that I could not get the on screen keyboard to popup, it turned out I had to change the keyboard language to English. I can not make calls although it seems it is connected to the mobile network. WIFI works for me.

Good to know. But probably I can't flash a custom rom and have the FM radio working on it? Spirit2 doesn't seem to support it?

I also have noticed reboots with DLK1. For me Chrome seems to cause issues. It is very slow on DLK1

WIFI I too had WIFI acting weird. It rebooted my phone and the icon was constantly flashing. I did a full reset and restored only apps+data with TitaniumBackup and now it seems to be back to normal with the latest nightly

Navigation Google navigation gives a couple of errors: First "Google TTS stopped" and then navigation seems to work for 2 minutes and then "Google Maps stopped". Sygic Aura navigation just shows a black screen on start up while it should show the Sygic logo.

Navigation I have been playing with beta 1 today, it is very nice and seems prity stable. However I am missing an important feature for me an that is navigation. Neither Google navigation or Sygic Aura seem to work. Anyone got any tips?

Creating a Nandroid backup works now if you flash the beta2 kernel. However I have not been able to restore a Nandroid backup.

Make a backup with for example Titanium Backup, flash JVT and than restore the backup from Titanium. If done properly this will result in almost no loss of data.

Lets hope they don't forget the S1 users, but it seems to be getting less likely that we will see a stable 2.3.4. So far I think al the 2.3.X samsung roms have been a little immature, it looks like they stopped the real stable support with 2.2 roms...

This seems really great. The internal GPS of my S1 is crap, however can we still use the internal GPS in case we forget the bluetooth GPS? Or is the internal GPS not functional at al?

Will we ever see a 2.3.4 stable released for our Galaxy's? It has been a while since the last leak. Samsung might not think it is worth spending more time on the S1.

I have the same, spontanious reboots and also FC's with 1.3. I didn't have such issues with 1.2.

I think these patents are only enforcable in the US. Every other country doesn't have these patents. So the $15 is only for phones sold in the US by Samsung.

Try a 2.2 ROM, for me the 2.3's still are not up to par with 2.2. I get a lot of FC's and spontanious reboots.

I had the same. I didn't turn off my phone, but I closed Odin and restated Odin with the same files and than again flashed. This time it worked.

No I have been using 2.3 for some time, but I don't think it is worth upgrading. Nothing new in Android and it hasn't been very stable for me. GPS seems to be worse too, getting a fix takes ages.

Feels very much the same as JVK, can't spot any differences.

GPS: I don't get a speed reading in GPS test, nor in Sygic. Fix seems to take a bit longer than JS8

I don't think we will ever get 2.3 on our i9000 devices. Samsung wants us to buy their new phone to get 2.3. Samsung is not apple, they don't really care about their existing userbase as much as apple does.

nice Nice, but why the app? As I understand your just fireing a request to your webserver, so why not just use the browser? That way you can control it from any device which has a browser on it.
