Under ICS you were able to activate WI-DI by running an appropriately programmed NFC command, however, this function seems to have been disabled under JB along with the FM radio. Media sharing uses DLNA which is a different story, I don't know more about it, but certainly would like to :)...

As I have read in some other forum the key thing is to somehow insert "dun" into the apn type. However, there is no universal solution since every carrier has its own apn settings. Therefore, you have to experiment like I and searbe did, and sooner or later you will find a way to get it...

I had the same issue ("mobile data link lost"), and solved it by changing the APN settings. Although settings vary from carrier to carrier, here is what i did: i changed the APN type from "default" to "default, dun". Hotspot and usb tethering works fine eversince. Sent from my XT890 using...
