Post [Q] Where exactly is the Qi coil?

Perfect, many thanks indeed. For anyone else interested: The centre of the coil is underneith the left side of the "u" of "Nexus". And the DT-900 has three coils; one slap-bang in the middle, the other two evenly spaced left and right of it.

Thread [Q] Where exactly is the Qi coil?

Can anyone please advise exactly whereabouts on the body is the Qi charging coil? And for that matter, would anyone happen to know the answer to the same question with the Nokia DT-900 charger? Many thanks.

    Thread [Q] Switch off LED?

I'm considering purchasing a Nexus 6. Can anyone please tell me; is it possible to completely switch off the charging LED? Or does that - as it does with so many other phones - require rooting and fiddling? Many thanks.

Post [Q] How to kill the charging LED?

Cheers. I do apologise if I'm sounding pedantic or difficult, but can you actually recommend a specific ROM? I'm not experienced with trying out ROMs, and I'd prefer not to install one, only to discover that it doesn't have the right settings, and so have to try another. Thanks very much.

Post [Q] How to kill the charging LED?

That looks very encouraging, thanks. Can you tell me where the screenshot comes from? Is it an app, or part of the settings of a custom ROM, in which case which one? Many thanks. As for why I want to switch it off: I have a desktop charger by my bed, the phone is positioned facing me, as I...

Post [Q] How to kill the charging LED?

Many thanks, but I don't want to change the colour, I want to switch it off completely. I'm very happy with the stock ROM, and I would much prefer not to have to use a custom one. However, if anyone here is able to verify from experience that it would definitely be possible to switch off the...

Thread [Q] How to kill the charging LED?

The question's been asked a few times before (including by me), but so far with no solution. I'm trying again, then: Does anyone know an app or hack or tweak that will completely kill the charging LED (or kill the LED altogether - if only I could open the phone and disconnect it!)? Yes, I'm...

Post [Q] Killing the charging LED

I regret that this is the kind of thing for which I'd need step-by-step instructions. I'm not a hacker at all (I don't know the difference between a module and a framework, certainly not the relationship between the two!). But I'm not an fool either; I could follow instruction to achieve the...

Post [Q] Killing the charging LED

Many thanks. In fact I used "Light Flow" successfully, until upgrading to Lollipop, after which it no longer works. But thanks for the suggestion. Any more, anyone… please! :)

Thread [Q] Killing the charging LED

Can anyone please suggest an app or tweak to switch off the charging LED? I'm rooted and have tried several apps that claim to do it, but so far haven't found one that actually does. Many thanks.

Post [Q] Using tablet as a regular phone

Many thanks for clearing that up for me. What a shame, though. I was on the verge of buying one, but I really would need to be able to use it as a regular phone (I must admit I would have no embarrassment holding it to my ear in public!). I thought I'd finally found myself an 8-inch phone, oh well.

Thread [Q] Using tablet as a regular phone

Could someone please confirm whether the tablet can or cannot be used as a hold-it-to-the-ear phone? Online reviews and specs seem to differ on this. Does it actually have a microphone and an ear-volume speaker in the correct places to be used as a phone held against the ear, or does it only...

    Post [Q] Switching of LED

Your sarcasm notwithstanding (and I actually DID stick tape over the LED for a while!), I've found a solution: Using an app called "Light Flow", running it in "Direct mode", and setting its sleep time settings for all day, I've managed to kill the LED dead. Job done :)

    Post [Q] Switching of LED

Thanks. But changing ROM seems like a serious overkill! I really do want to stay with the stock ROM (and to be able to receive the imminent over-the-air Lollipop update). Is a change of ROM really the only way to do it?

    Thread [Q] Switching of LED

I want to switch off my charging LED, indeed I'd like to switch off the LED completely. My phone is rooted and I've been trying out apps, but so far I haven't found a single one that can do the job. Can anyone please recommend an app or a method of simply killing the charging LED? Thanks.

Post [Q] Can I root but stay official?

Ah, many thanks. I didn't realise that was possible. I thought rooted was rooted and there was no going back. Although I've rooted a couple of devices before, I'm still something of a newbie. Would you be able to point me in the direction of a good tutorial or website with instructions how to...

Thread [Q] Can I root but stay official?

I have a Sony Xperia Z Ultra, running 4.4.4. Is it possible to do a simple root (in order to make adjustments to the LED and sound), but not affect the stock ROM or over-the-air updates? I don't want to miss out on the official Sony Lollipop, so should I maybe wait to root until after that...

    Thread [Q] Basic rooting tutorial

Post [Q] Switch off charging LED

Thanks. I'm fairly new to rooting, so please forgive if this is a naive question; but is it possible to get root access on the device in order to fix the LED issue (and also boost the appalling sound) and yet continue to run the stock ROM and go on receiving official Sony over-the-air updates?

Post [Q] Automatic heart rate monitoring?

Thanks again. I tell you what would be an awesome feature if you could add it to a future release: Sleeping hours during which auto does not take measurements. I take my watch off at night, but of course the app goes on taking measurements even so.

Post [Q] Automatic heart rate monitoring?

Hi Ryan, Many thanks indeed for taking the trouble to outline the app. I've downloaded, donated, and set to auto heart rate every 30 mins. Post [Q] Android 5 in landscape

Post [Q] German unit in England

Many thanks, guys. Hmmm ... the LTE comment worries me slightly. Thread [Q] Making phone calls with MediaPad M1

I hope to purchase a Huawei MediaPad M1. I read everywhere, and all the reviews state, that the tablet can be used as a phone, however, playing with one in store I find there is no phone software on the device. It is critical that I can use the tablet as a regular hold-it-to-your-ear phone. Will...
