You are speaking of very old/cheap nokia phones. Try a E71/E72/E52/E55, just to make some examples. you are right in only one thing: services in background are actually multitasking. But it's a trick. Devs have to put a lot more effort in programming to make an application multitasking...

meego multitask-system is WAY better than the android one (real multitasking). and symbian's too is pretty good (real multitasking). I hate both android and iphone fake multitasking.
