Anyway to disable "car-mode"?

I've not been able to watch tv shows @ 720p60 with any player :(

Did it, all works, DPI wise, but the app still sees me as a smartphone :( Is there some kinda "android-user-agent" setting that identifies my phone?

In what ways does android detect wether a device is a tablet or smartphone? Only DPI settings or some more ways? Are there apps to impersonate a nexus7 for instance?

On 0% brightness, I can watch for 8 hours, on 100% its 3 hours, 720p stream from NAS, via WiFi.

Give the phone a few battery cycles before judging it. hold the power-button (top one), and press the home-button for screenshot. In the settings-menu you'll see "power", the stats are there, you can click the different items to see the details in usage.

Made a screenshot of the Quickpic settings screen, you can clearly see the banding, so its the software. Haven't seen any banding issues on the HTC One X yet. See pic where I increased the contrast:

Ok, go by peoples feelings, and believe that the firmware has some kinda learning ability...i rather do a proper test. But, to make you happy, 3d gaming is much faster.

Difference between an optimized recode and a shacky raw handcam are huge in size. And most 1080p movies have black bars, so also less size.

No, this phone can handle 40 Mbps, 30-fps, but the software can't...yet, and that's a shame. Maybe its because the extra options, like make screenshots while filming, but its a shame the software cripples the camera quality so much. ...and the difference in quality/detail of 10 vs 40 Mbps is HUGE.

Maybe 3 may, but atm, the oneX screen blows away the Gnex/Gnote screen. Cause the problems are still there today, Gnex and Gnote both have "grainy screens", lotsa banding problems in dark areas, and bad color profiles. Display quality, and the OneX is far ahead of the Gnex and Gnote.

Is working, yes, but what does it do...seems no one knows. Yet i see every blog just blindly posting 10-20% increase in battery life, just cause 1 guy mentions it, without any evidence whatsoever.

Your phone should only drop about 1% overnight, if not you have too much crap running. This is with only Wifi, no cell, so maybe its abit more, dunno what the cell drains.

Thats the same as people saying: "On moderate use bla bla bla". There are so many variable that alter battery stats that you need a pretty good test to make conclusions like this. I always do: 1) factory reset 2) no auto brightness 3) airplane mode 4) run 3 or so different benchmarks (10x...

I use my phone mostly for video playback from my NAS. I had a Note, but couldn't bare the pixelation/banding in the dark areas, it distracted me from watching. The screen of the HTC is way better for watching videos, aspect ratio and quality wise.

IMHO Amoled lost for now, they move too slowly. They need an Amoled+ 720p display in a small form.

Post you brightness % or all these stats are pretty useless.

Is there a way to dim the button leds while watching a video? Is it even possible to make a mod like that?

Thx, tricky business, but it works, so far, for Flickr and Notes. Can't disable maps yet, popups in the HTC task manager all the time.

If i check the ICS task manager and kill everything. First thing that starts up is Flickr (8mb). I never use Flickr, don't have an account. I don't need to know more, that's just wrong.

Well, my experience is the same, laggy zooming and some weird re-wrapping going on all the time. Its just a crappy stock browser. Chrome works excellent.

First thing you do is charge to 100%. Then use it as much as you can. Try to avoid draining it completely.

Yeah cell radio can take 40% of my HD2 battery stats when not using it. Still afraid to cut my sim for my HoX :)

So when comparing battery life, the major factor is the brightness of the screen. If anyone posts battery stats in a review or whenever, it means nothing without the brightness of the screen mentioned. Also some devices are perfect readable when on 20%, but some need 40%. So its pretty much...

Its with everything off (could name that airplane mode) except somehow, my wifi was turned on. Basicly its just to test what brightness does to battery life.....its alot.
