Post Android 4.4 Galaxy S4 DISCUSSION

I hear this a lot, and at times I agree with you. However, what's stopping you from just plugging in an external battery pack every once in a while? I've been debating getting an extra battery for my s4, and I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna stick with an external battery pack instead, just...

Post [GUIDE] Eliminate Screen Wake Lag

My post about this never received much attention in the GS4 forums, so here's nothing: I have not tried this fix yet, but I have an observation to make. With no effects on, no lockscreen widgets, etc, the lag from pressing the power button to the lockscreen actually showing is around 2-3...

I really didn't mean to submit that yet haha. Let's start from where I left off. ...I.e. The phone goes straight to the home screen. There is absolutely no lag from waking up, so I'm not convinced by the wake lock deep sleep argument. Let me know what you guys think Sent from my...

    Post Battery Life?

Thanks for correcting me, for some reason I thought that the Verge did use their standardized test. I guess it's unfortunate that the reviews are just posted ASAP to generate more pageviews. I think for a good battery test we should wait for the Anandtech Review. Does anyone know if Engadget did...

    Post Battery Life?

We need standardized results Guys, asking about daily usage battery life doesn't really help anyone. Everyone's usage will be different, so each persons mileage may vary. What we need are standardized battery life tests across numerous devices in order to make a fair and unbiased comparison...

Post htc one matches macbook pro design

I like how it tapers just like the macbook pros. Not as much as the Air (cause that would just feel weird in your hand) but tapering to a thinner edge. It provides that super-thin illusion. But it's just that, an illusion. Which kind of pisses me off. Looking at other designs, it seems that HTC...

I was reading a review of the HTC One (I know, I'm behind) and I came to the realization that the design of the HTC One nicely matches the design of my Retina Macbook Pro. Post [Q] What's preventing the Gingerbread Kernel from working properly with ICS?

Here's my take on the situation. The Gingerbread kernel is based off of version 2.6.32.60. In order to update the drivers/kernel to support each other, they need an updated kernel, I believe 3.1.10. I know the version change from 2-3 is minor, but as far as I am aware updating kernels requires...

I don't want to be that guy, but these sorts of things are being ignorant of the search bar. This has been discussed before, and the final verdict on the Optimus 2x is that they are using an updated kernel version, so we can't just port back and forth as we please. The other factor is that...

I don't quite remember, but if the major issue was find kernel sources from 2.6.39.4, this is it. Post lapdock usefulness?

I just wish the OS scaled better for the higher resolution of the laptop dock, but it's a minor inconvenience. The major inconvenience for me is that it likes to reboot once it stays idle while on the lapdock for longer than 10 minutes, but that might be due to undervolting.

Okay, so as I understand it (I'm still trying to figure this stuff out) dvfs is a feature that is fairly standard, but by having a hardware solution to this you can bypass the software? I just found this on xda's homepage: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/in-depth-nexus-s-battery-study-brings-about-surprising-conclusions/ Apparently, undervolting on nexus s kernels did not increase battery life. I would expect different since lowering voltage should reduce the amount of...
