Post Removing notifications from second screen?

So long ago... Although I still have my V20, I stopped using it about a year ago after a dropped and cracked screen issue. But I don't think I ever figured this out.

Post Second thoughts on my T-Mobile S8 Plus Order

This is where each person's experience is different, I subscribe to Google Play Music and so YouTube Red comes in the package and I don't see ads. Admittedly I'm now back to seeing ads in all my apps, one forgets how many ads there are until you don't have an ad blocker...

Post Second thoughts on my T-Mobile S8 Plus Order

I got an LG V20 before it was rooted and I enjoyed (briefly) the experience of no root and Android Pay but once root came out (well, a couple of weeks after), I caved in and rooted. I decided to take my chances with this phone as there's only a short list of reasons to root (and without Xposed...

Thread Second Screen Not Showing Quick Toggles When Main Screen is Off

I posted a similar topic a couple of days ago, but was able to solve it on my own. I have as an option showing the Quick Toggles while the screen is off, but when I turn off the main screen, I am only able to swipe between music controls and the time and do not see any of the quick toggles. When...

Post Second Screen No Longer Offering Toggles as An Option

Never mind, figured it out. Occurred to me that I froze something called "Quick Tools" via Titanium Backup because I didn't recognize it and I didn't have a "run app" option. But tada, it's back now.

Thread Second Screen No Longer Offering Toggles as An Option

Not sure if this is related, but I rooted my phone yesterday, went through and formatted data, etc (twice since it needed to be done after a bootloader unlock and again when I installed supersu), set up my phone and restored data with the LG backup I made, and everything is working great. Only...

Post Heads up motivations (peek) removal

None of these settings are just for peek, you'd need access to the System UI Tuner for a slightly more granular adjustment. I would still want to be notified with a sound/vibration, I'd just want to hide peek which gets in the way when I'm doing other things on the phone.

Post Removing notifications from second screen?

Thank you, but I'm aware of those settings (reached even faster if you press and hold on the notification and clicking on "more settings"). They are pretty much the same across any Nougat device outside of using the System UI Tuner which doesn't appear to be accessible with the V20. My question...

Thread Removing notifications from second screen?

Is there a way to remove persistent notifications from the second screen? I don't need to know that Tasker (for example) is always running.
  10. C

Post Heads up motivations (peek) removal

I'm looking for the same answer, I'd prefer a bit more granular control of my notifications as the options available aren't enough. All I'd want to do is hide the "peek" option.

    Post Manually powering off

Well that kind of defeats the idea of turning it off before taking it apart... In either case, I just took a chance and opened it up while it was on and all is well now.

    Thread Manually powering off

So I dropped my Note this morning which must have caused the screen to become unplugged. I'd like to open it up, but would want to power it down before I do so. Unfortunately, it was at nearly 100% battery and when in standby barely uses power. Is there a way to manually shut the Note down?

Post Android M Developer Preview on the Nexus Player

I should add that it seems when I disconnect my bluetooth speaker, Netflix works fine, but if I connect it, it gets stuck at the 99% and no video (but audio plays fine through my speakers).

I'm having the exact same issue and was thinking the same thing (although I'm using bluetooth speakers). Didn't see any solutions in the thread, or I kissed them.

    Post [ROM][N6][7.1.2_r24]★ Pure Nexus ★ Substratum | Fi | WiFi Calling ★[07/25/17]

Unfortunately, before I got to that point, I discovered (as the poster after me did), that I no longer had data on T-Mobile, so did a dirty flash which unfortunately didn't solve the problem of no data.

    Post [ROM][N6][7.1.2_r24]★ Pure Nexus ★ Substratum | Fi | WiFi Calling ★[07/25/17]

Potentially a dumb question and I can't find the answer (probably because I don't the exact terms to search for), it out of curiosity I flashed the Google dialer and have discovered that it will no longer let me dial out using Google Voice. I could use Hangouts dialer, but as I don't yet have...

I picked up the Nexus Player last night and found the issue of not being able to connect a bluetooth speaker, hoped this would be the solution, but I still can't seem to connect, just continues to search. Thread Accelerometer Not Working

Background first: I've owned the Sony Smartwatch since the beginning of the year and other than the usual charging issue, it was working fine for the first few months. Post [ROM][4.1.2][p-series][12/18/12] ParanoidAndroid 2.99 [1.9a]

It is and it isn't. The ROM versions I've installed have been specifically for the T-Mobile version (p4tmo), Cyanogenmod released Jelly Bean for it, and other than a minor issue, it's working well. My concern is losing 3G/4G, which is the reason I have this version of the tablet, but I have...

    Thread [Q] T-Mobile Samsung Tab 10.1

I've seen a few posts about this, but nothing definitive on whether anyone is actually working on any ROMs for the 10.1 Tab from T-Mobile (I picked one up about a month ago). I'm actually only looking for a stock ROM I can flash should I screw something up (which I kinda sorta did, but it's not...

Post Restore to Stock WITH Programs/Avatar?

Yeah, sorry, that is correct - I should have been more clear for the OP. In the case of a stock ROM restore, all you're doing is restoring the shortcut the Avatar movie. This is only the case for Avatar, everything else should work as original.

Post Restore to Stock WITH Programs/Avatar?

There's nothing on the internal SD card for a stock Vibrant, Avatar is on the external SD card that came with it (if you formatted that, you SOL). If you want to restore the internal SD card to it's original state, just format it from within settings. Odin will restore the Vibrant to stock...

Post Android Market notification or monitoring app?

Actually, you can use Tasker for that - it does have a condition of when an app is installed, so you should be able to set it up so that it texts you each time an app is installed. Not sure how in depth the text can be (ie, name of app, etc), but it's a step in the right direction. Only thing...

I've been having this happen a lot lately myself, it happened to me before on stock ROM due to SetCPU, but now on the leaked ROM. I did not clean the SD card (internal or external), so will give that a shot when I have some time to copy files on/off the SD cards (one reason to dislike the...

Not sure if this is the same for everyone, but I can't seem to access the GPS settings using the *#*#1472365#*#* command - not sure when it started, but the one thing I did do between the last time I accessed the service (a few weeks back) to now is flashing the leaked firmware. Anyone else...

    Post Problem rooting Samsung Vibrant

I have a rooted Vibrant, so it's not an issue with the phone per se, but it does seem that there was a batch of them made that will not allow you to either go into recovery or download modes via physical hardware (holding volume keys, etc), and at least in one other instance I've read, the...

Post clone phone to new phone

I would presume a Nandroid restore would suffice so long as you're getting the same phone (which I presume is the case with the word "replacement"). Of course, you would still need to root and install clockwork recovery. The other option is Titanium Backup, but, again, you still need to root...

I had tried APNdroid a couple weeks back and it worked for me, or at least seemed to. I use Quick Settings, which will put a notification in the pull down task bar and you have access to a number of system settings. jkAppSwitchEX works great as a sort of AltTab type thing and you can pin it to a long press of the search button. It also can be used as a task killer and can have...

I recently discovered Jorte, which has a good amount of widgets and the calendar app itself is excellent and will fully replace the stock one (my preference) - but I'm pretty sure you can have it open the stock one. It can also sync with Google Tasks although it has to be done manually.

Post [Q] Find Phone via WiFi? (e.g. turn Ringer on, Vibrate)

Tasker doesn't require root, I don't think there's anything it does that would require it (could be wrong, I do have root, but it's not listed as a requirement). I don't think it handles emails, though, either. But I'd say you can call it and use Tasker to handle the call from a specific...

I believe ADW Launcher has the same feature. You just need to choose "Custom Shortcut" instead of "Shortcut" and it will allow you to choose your activity. Post [Q] Find Phone via WiFi? (e.g. turn Ringer on, Vibrate)

Tasker can handle something like that. It's an amazing program, so worth the $5 (or $6 from the market), but you can download a 7 day trial from the website: http://tasker.dinglisch.net/ You should be able to set up a task to turn on the ringer (or to play a song or tone or whatever) when a...
