I've done similar research and found an app called Copy My Data in the play store. I haven't used it yet but may give it a shot when I get my V20 next week. I have used My backup Pro in the past and found it effective.

I'm getting the V20. Going to miss the S pen and wireless charging but looking forward to the DAC enhanced music player. Also I'm intrigued by the dual screen.

I'm thinking on buying outright an LG V20 and just keeping my Note 7 as a collectors item. Note sure if it will be worth anything in 10 years but it will make me feel good just knowing I still have it.

My 7 does get hot while charging using the Samsung wireless charger. I make sure I charge it to 99% ( I have an alarm that tells me) and disconnect it overnight just in case.
