Post [Q] reduce useable screen size?

Under Settings -> Personal there is One-handed Operation. I don't think it does what you're describing, but I think it shifts certain elements like the keyboard to one side to make it easier to use with one hand. Might at least help some.

Post My Note II Performed Seppuku Last Night

AndreiLux from the Perseus Kernel said to ignore whether it says "sane" or not and only look at the version. The eMMC chip you have on the CLN is the same as mine (I've had no issues but that obviously doesn't mean anything). I got my phone at the end of December; I wonder if the early batches...

Post My Note II Performed Seppuku Last Night

adrynalyne, did your stock phone have the emmc that was reported to have the issue, VTU00M revision 0xf1, or did it have a different emmc chip? If other emmcs are affected beyond the one that was the problem in the gs3 that makes things scarier because not all note 2s have that chip.

Post [Q] SD Cards for GNote2

If you root and do custom roms you should do FAT32 because not all kernels (both for recoveries and for roms) have a good exFAT driver. TWRP, for example, doesn't support exFAT at all last I checked, so you wouldn't be able to read/write roms and backups from your SD card if you use TWRP with an...

    Post [Kernel][26/04][N7100 N7105 N7108 R950] Perseus

I'm occasionally getting nasty kernel wakelock while sleeping. I live in an area where I can occasionally pick up the edge of 4g, so sometimes my phone switches back and forth between 3g and 4g, I don't know if that's what's causing it? Anectodally, that usually happens ever half hour-45 min...

    Post DON'T ACCEPT OTA UPDATES

For what it's worth, arbitrary code execution is a pretty serious vulnerability. Obviously it's often what allows devs to do what they do, but most sane software devs don't intentionally leave major security holes in their product. It might look like Samsung/VZW is "out to get you" or some such...

No reboots yet since 30.1, everything's been good. Just flashed 31.2. Not sure if the eMMC type/revision just depends on the batch, or maybe different batches were for different carriers (I'm on VZW), but I have a completely different type. Type: MAG4FB FwRev: 0xf7 Obviously it's not the...

    Post bluetooth cycling

Do you have anything else you could try syncing your phone to in order to see if it only happens with your car or if it happens with anything? Might be a decent first step. I had a similar issue on one of my old phones but chalked it up to the bluetooth adapter in my laptop because it would...

    Post [Kernel][Apr 26] Perseus

Couple things. First, the reference thread linked in the OP is better for posting bugs than this one if you think you're having an actual issue. If you get a random reboot, do a cat /proc/last_kmsg and output it to a text file, then upload it to that thread. That will provide the dev with a log...

I've had charging problems but only with the Samsung stock AC/USB adapter part of the charger. I use the same cable with a different AC plug and the phone charges fine. With the stock one it'll charge for about 5-10 minutes and then just stop.. if I unplug it for awhile it will charge again, but...

    Post New Note 2 issues

I'm sure you could Odin a factory image and probably be fine, but I'd exchange it. No reason to take a chance on a brand new device before messing around with it IMO. If it doesn't even work out of the box, I'd be skeptical.

I've had two reboots in about a week on my Verizon Note II. I was traveling when I got the first one and so couldn't pull a last_kmsg for you, but I got one this time. Running on the stock settings from the kernel flash, no changing stepping or voltage in STweaks, stock clock speed. For what...

Post ★☞ [Rom][4.3] AllianceRom - Build 26 THE Most Customisable TW ROM On ANY Device [04/27/14][Aroma][MJ9] ☜★

I also had an issue with the Wifi Tether app. If you select it in aroma when flashing the ROM it installs to /system/app and would constantly FC if you tried to start tethering. I removed it from there (had to remount and rm it, wouldn't let me through the uninstaller), installed the latest...

    Post Battery drain overnight

Why are people so adamant about a reboot every day? Seriously, that was sort of necessary like 10 years ago, but modern devices really don't require it. They have enough disk/processing/memory capacity to be able to dynamically allocate resources without getting all messed up. It was a big deal...

    Post How is the Radio?

Funny, I've only had the Note 2 a few days and haven't been in any good 4G areas yet, but I find so far that it's much better than my Rezound. Where I live I only have 3G, with 4G being across the lake.. my Rezound would pick up 4g for 30 seconds at a time very rarely (like once a week), and...

Post [ROM][07.18.12]Team Venom presents:ViperRez 1.0.3-The most innovative Sense Rom ever!

Seriously, battery life on this ROM is the best I've ever had on this phone. This is fairly light usage (some texting, a bit of gtalk, some Twitter, a couple of 5 minute calls, but a lot of idle time). Screen on time still chews battery, but that's really it. This is the standard battery, not...

I know you said you said you looked at background data, but does that include going into the Pokemon Tweaks and looking at the hidden power menu there? Post [Q] Help! Phone Will Not go Past HBoot or BootLoader Screens

If you want to go back to stock, you can lock the bootloader and RUU. You'll have to use whatever version your firmware is currently on (so if you flashed the ICS firmware, you would have to use that RUU, if you're on older firmware, flash whatever GB one you're on). Edit: You can flash to a...

Post I have a bit of a dilemma (solved)

Might be a problem with udev rules, try running fastboot as sudo if you haven't yet. Likewise for adb if that doesn't work either (though obviously adb will only work when in recovery or normally booted, and fastboot commands only work when you're in fastboot). If running them as sudo works...

Post Why can't I flash ROMs?

It sounds like you're missing the part where you, you know, actually flash the ROM. The kernel zip and the ROM zip are separate; the kernel (normally found in PH98IMG.zip) is flashed in hboot/fastboot, the ROM (where the zip is called whatever) from recovery. It doesn't matter which order you...

    Post Noon question

Unlocking the bootloader does not root your phone by itself, but it does allow you to take the necessary steps to do so. Once you are unlocked, you can flash a custom recovery partition, and from recovery you can easily root (Amon Ra recovery even comes with the option to do so). Custom...

If your battery isn't completely dead, try this. Unplug it, pull the battery for a few seconds, put the battery back in (do not plug the phone back in), and attempt to power it on. Post [Q] thumb keyboard force closing

After you install it you need to move the .so file from /data/data/com.beansoft.keyboardplus/lib into /system/lib and then match permissions on the file to the rest of /system/lib (should be 644 I believe?). That'll stop the FCs.

    Post Rom Manager Compatibility

Yeah, it'll require an official CWR and maybe an update to ROM Manager to support it. There's a build of CWR out there for the phone now but it's not an official build by Koush so I'm guessing that's why it's not integrating with ROM Manager.
