Is it correct that the OTA update won't happen if you are on a custom or have an unlocked bootloader?

I was finally going to activate mine tomorrow after a (busy) week of sitting on it. Is there any way to do this without accepting the update so I can still unlock?

If you have the trackball wake option on then you can wake it during a call with the trackball. Also, I don't believe Bluetooth works yet.

I think I'm having an issue with Cache2Cache (or possibly just the Play store). When I try to install something from the Play store, it tells me that there is insufficient storage available. When I go into Manage Apps, at first it only shows the 20MB or so, but then it slowly starts showing...

I have been having some trouble with the system crashing when I try to use the Amazon app. I attached a logcat of one such attempt.

Something weird is going on with the WiFi. It works fine when I first turn it on, but then after awhile, it thinks none of the networks are in range. After I turn the WiFi off and then back on, it works fine again.

Since dragon said he is having issues again, I'm assuming it's the same problem. There are two different manufacturers for touch screens on the Eris and only one of them played nice with mongoose's ROM.

If I understand it correctly, the Eris' limited hardware makes a custom kernel not so useful.

Sounds like that is not the case here then.

I think back when goose was doing ICS, there were touchscreen issues. Apparently, there are two different makes of touchscreen used on the Eris and one of them was working, the other wasn't. I remember one of them was Malfas, but I don't remember if that is the one that worked or didn't work.

Still no microphone on the in call and gps still says the same thing. Setup came up this time though and worked fine.

Connecting to WiFi worked just fine. I unchecked avoid poor signals before I tried. I flashed gapps and Maps and Gmail stuck. I opened maps and clicked on the my location icon, but it kept telling me "Please enable a My Location source in system settings" even though I had all of the boxes...

It did that for me after I flashed gapps and then also after I stuck the Play Store on there.

Setup didn't come up, it went right to the launcher.

It booted all the way up. It took at least 30 minutes, maybe even a little longer. I got most of the logcat, but Windows is kind of stupid and starts erasing things if it gets too long. After it went through all of the dexopt stuff, it starts to get a little fragmented. I can't test anything...

It's booting, but it's taking forever. It's still chugging along though.

There is no trouble at all. I am happy to do it. It is the least I can do. Unfortunately, it is looping on the skateboarding androids so it isn't getting far enough that adb will recognize it.

I haven't played with it too much, but it seems just a tick slower than Evervolv (I think), but seems to have better battery life (I think). Also, I forgot to mention, the USB Mass Storage thing is a little wonky, For example, it pops up when I plug it into the wall. One thing I want to check...

To get a log, do we just plug the phone in, boot, and do a logcat while it boots?
