I have tried flashing this with CWM and as soon as it gets to extracting system files it goes to black screen and then logo. I have tried to flash a different recovery and get the same result ....Any ideas would be appriciated.

Do you have any nandroids on sd? If you use TWRP to do backup it should be on your sd. You need to use restore in TWRP to flash those backups. If you don't you can try loading beans or another rom from your computer to your sd. And flash it in recovery. If any of your more experienced guys can...
