Well actually for this device I don't think Oreo is ever gonna come out. I don't have the skills to develop a root method fir this device but if I could get a partner to help me root this device once more. Because this device has so much potential!

Mind telling us how we could do it for this device? Because I still use this as my daily driver and I grieve everyday wishing I had never updated

I just think that a rooted budget phone with the right fan base and developers can have a much longer life span which is what carrier's like Verizon and MetroPcs don't want because they don't get a whole lot of money off of long life budget phones.

Probably why big companies like Samsung should stick to flagships..

I have received an update another one other than the revision 2 firmware. Which means that Samsung could've left some holes for root developers ??. I'm not updating I'm really hoping some light shines on this phone so we can get root access!

I just received an update?! Not quite sure what it is but this could bring some hope for people who updated to the revision 2 already and maybe that it is possible to root it. Easier said than done obviously but I really hope a root developer is reading this. Please someone form another root...

Really surprised me with Samsung to about this. They're normally pretty nice with OEM unlock and etc. Unfortunately this is just a phone they've licked down. They're Galaxy Note series all have root. So it really makes no sense to me why this one is so closed off.

Is anyone ever goona look at this in the future or is it hopeless? Because I do understand that root is available but even that is unstable.

Anything for those who updated? Downgrade method? Etc...

Unfortunately for people who updated its been patched. The root method anyway. I'm not sure if anyone is working on it. But this phone seems to be coming back in popularity for rooting so i wouldn't think it'll be a huge wait.

So its been around a year. Are there anymore advancements made with this phone? Or has it just been abandoned? Would really like to have root without bootloop issue and a custom rom would be fantastic. Please let me know!

Right that's what I got too. But I couldn't find a link or a supposed method to actually install this root if so you're crazy enough to preform it.
