Why don't you flash Cleankat 3.0 ? It has an app to increase app storage to up to 2.5 GB. This is what I have done.

FOTA stands for Firmware Over The Air. It is the stock ROM with the difference that it is sent to your phone over the internet.

I believe you have to wipe data in recovery after repartitioning. Did you try that? Also, why did you select such low sizes when your phone has 8 Gb internal? Why 500MB?

This is hidden from regular users. Go to System->About Phone in settings. Keep tapping the Build Number repeatedly. You will get a pop up that you are now a developer. Go back to System and the Developer Options will now be visible.

I'm using 2.0, and there are no bugs (after flashing stock camera). Like I said I just need the Indian rupee symbol (available in stock English (IN)) , which I was using quite a lot. Otherwise, no issues at all.
