If I want to dirty flash ROM to install a different kennel, do I select the Magisk and V4A and all that in the aroma installer again or just install the ROM then flash Magisk after the kernel?

Okay, good news, I found a work around for the theme problem that I've been having -remove new launcher and revert to the old launcher + reboot -change the theme to (light/dark) -now start to switch to the new launcher and reboot -everything should be normal Just leaving this here in case...
