Post long term but relatively novice member

I appreciate the admonishment about "taking the time" and I actually considered that I had. Unfortunately, my limited reading here and elsewhere resulted in the same conclusion that you reached, minus the aspirational portion! I guess I was hoping that, indeed, my reviews were truly...

Thread long term but relatively novice member

People, I just returned to the Samsung "fold" after a hiatus of several years. It's a Note 10+ 5G, with T-Mobile. While the improvement from my previous LG (AT&T) phone and experience is absolute (T-Mobile has turned out to be a wonderful surprise), what I was really hoping for was, among...

Post Root and Bootloader achieved kinda...

That's why I always ordered through on line distributors who tend to sell ww versions of phones. I suppose I was lucky in that I could always just insert my sim and all the essentials worked. Once I had to make a minor change in the APN settings and my local AT&T rep gave them to me! I will...

Post Root and Bootloader achieved kinda...

Well, I can only answer by saying that, since the days of Windows Mobile 1.03, I have owned many phones (my friends would say I have a problem)! Even with jailbreak, I realized early on that iOS was never going to be able to assist in my work, etc, so I have never owned an iPhone. Moreover, I...

Post Root and Bootloader achieved kinda...

The phone is really quite nice. However, contrary to what I normally do, I bought phone through AT&T. They have done certain things which (so far) prevent one from getting into bootloader through any method that I can use. Indeed, their "recovery" is merely a single "nuclear option". Either...

    Post KDZ V40 V409N10l

I appreciate it. I sort of wanted to make sure that there wasn't something obvious I was missing. For a phone of this level, I was not expecting that it would be so defective.. I have never seen a phone with no real recovery.. This is a first! I wish I could wait for it to be fixed but when I...

Was worth a shot! No. 1 I had actually tried before. No. 2, like 1, just boots back into the system.

I cannot..i cannot get to a place where Fastboot can be used. Only a recovery with no commands. Please tell me how you did it. Thanks!

LG V40 Recovery/Bootloader Has anyone else had the following experience with the LG V40: I obtained mine about a three weeks ago. It does have the latest Android already loaded. It's from AT&T. While i am no expert, I always root and am usually pretty successful at it and rooting does...

Post [root] [ZS570KL] Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe fast rooting method. Despite TWRP

Without the right Twrp, many benefits to rooting are missing such as removing stock rom applications. Seems without being able to boot to a recovery, even Titanium cannot remove apps because it needs to clean the dalvic.. Can't do it without a recovery Sent from my ASUS_Z016D using...

Post [Q] Getting Controller to work with Samsung Homesync

You are right about homesync. It is a remarkably useless item. Neither a real server, nor does it even have the ability to run one's basic tablet apps, such as hbo-go, etc, which would make it useful as a permanent media center with all one's movie subscriptions, etc! However, yesterday...

Post Universal Root de la Vega v0.5 [ Root without tripping KNOX or Malware! ]

Just finished getting everything ready, obtaining the official firmware, etc., psyching myself up to finally get root on this new device.. and I can't seem to download the necessary URDLV files. Are they not available any longer?

Post [root] [SM-P605] Universal Root de la Vega

Thanks.. this is exactly what I needed... access to the script and a step by step explanation of the process.. been using computers since DOS but i really don't know any other operating systems and certainly not well enough to walk through this without guidance! All i have to do is get at tar...

i did. and that does work. but, it also works with the data SIM now.. Now, all i need is to figure out how to root it! URDLV is shut down and so i have to wait until someone comes up with an easier way!

Post [root] [SM-P605] Universal Root de la Vega

the tablet WILL work on AT&T... and they do use the 2100 band for 4G. However, the device is SO new that AT&T's system could not recognize it and it took a very dedicated ATT tech (hats off to him!) and me about 1.5 hrs to get it to work on my existing data plan, changing various settings, etc...

Post [root] [SM-P605] Universal Root de la Vega

Not with my existing AT&T tab 2 10.1 SIM. However, it did work at 3G+ with my Note 2 SIM card. so, will be going to AT&T later today. AT&T uses 700 and 2100 bands for 4G and several others for 3G+. The SM-P605 does not use 700 but can use 2100. Going to AT&T later and see what they can do...

No, i think you're right on. while I can't download the tools to create the .tar file, apparently, i am told, they don't work quite as well to root the sm-p605 which is the LTE version. I guess i was hoping that rooting the sm-p605 would be as easy as it was for the other two android tablets i...

Post [root] [SM-P605] Universal Root de la Vega

Well, in order to get it here in the US (the 605 LTE), I had to order it through a company that brings these in from overseas. I've done this before because here in the US, we seem to get the best stuff, last, or not at all! I think mine is from Asia/Australia.. or possibly Thailand. I don't...

Post [root] [SM-P605] Universal Root de la Vega

OK.. Thanks. That answers the "concept" question. One must create one's own .tar.md5 file using one's existing stock rom. I just got an SM-P605 here in the US (and also just realized it does work with AT&T albeit at a slower speed!) and am going to try to root it using this method. I am very...

I am also somewhat inexperienced.. in the referenced thread, are the necessary Odin and TAR files provided to perform the root or do we have to create them using CMD, etc? I am confused by the idea of "creating" one's own Odin file. thanks
