as far as i know, we only have root on the 7th gen, we still have a locked bootloader, so no roms yet to my knowledge. i'm waiting very patiently.

Hey now, don't start arguing over a stupid question. I understood that there would be a chance of a brick, thats why i asked first. However, as far as i know, there is literally no difference in the hardware between the 7th and 8th gen fire hd 8.

this is a dumb question, and one that might not belong in this thread, but has anyone tried to adb sideload the update for the 8th gen fire 8 to the 7th gen? because if i can't have root, i would at least like to have the most recent software.

enjoying the rom, for the most part everything works great, slight issues with signal, but that could be user error. only issue i have found is the camera, crashes when i switch to video, so i just downloaded the google camera app from the play store.

So, i don't know if this will help anyone, but i have a twrp backup of all partitions from my sprint ls885 running zv6, rooted but no other mods. if you want it i can upload it to my drive and link it here. i am willing to test roms if anyone can figure out the bootloader thingy, other then that...
