have you tried a different computer / linux vm? fastboot has been known to have issues with USB3 ports. do you have a USB2 port to try?

rooted and added the stock APN settings yesterday, still 3G. I have a second XT1625 stock to test the differences... the LTE speeds weren't that much faster stock, than the 3G speed are now. Not sure what to try next. Could it be the available bands are different across the various G4s/ G4+s?
