Hello! I've got used phone with stock OC6 OTA updated. I have a few questions: 1) is it possible to root it from the current state (via downgrade or any other way, I don't care about knox or full wipe) 2) it has only few languages and lacks my native, is there a fix like more locale or similar?

This is exactly how I did it! I can send you the file it is very small, so you can examine it too. If you don't mind. Rooting android x86 in vmware is not that simple. I still can't figure out why the root script from xda doesn't work for me.

Exaclty. It is "data" without apk backup using helium. To me it looks like normal tar file splitted in chunks with 01 0a or something. With related directory structure like apps/ which maps to /data/data in helium.

They made some custom and probably more convinient way to backup using adb backup with tar files. The problem is that it is really hard to convert any backup (titanium or ultimate) for it to accept. I don't think it is bug, it is just some strange usage of adb backup. This means even if Helium...

Either there is something wrong with abe.jar or with .ab and .tar files. .ab were created using Helium and uploaded to dropbox, then downloaded locally When I unpack it - resulting .tar files is wrong for some reason. If it will have no video drivers for nvidia like it was in jb - it is useless, coz you can't even use navigation on it, it stutters too much, not saying the 3d games do not run at all or with awful bugs and very slow.

Flashed 5.0.1 lite and found a small "quirk". Notification bar sound toggle shows incorrect image after reboot. How to reproduce: Set sound toggle to sound+vbr. Reboot. Check toggle - will be "sound" (without vbr) and icon wrong too.
