Thanks, but a custom ROM is not the answer; I have never had very good experience with custom Roms - always something missing. I also do not suffer from any appreciable hearing loss, as my annual audiograms prove. I'm not sure why a hearing loss would be funny, either.

The volume from my Streak 7 is too low to hear even at its highest setting. This is true for the built-in speakers or for headphones. I tried watching a movie during a flight recently and could just barely hear most of it. Are there any tweaks or apps to increase the maximum volume? Thanks.

I agree as well. The only drawback I see in the Streak 7 is its short battery life, which can be easily overcome with an external power pack.
