Post Essential system updates for google android - .7924

Fixed I finally managed to install the (kitkat) auto update and retain root status. As with previous updates (which I had forgotten about), I had to extract and modify the update header first, then flash it with TWRP. Not attempted Lollipop yet.

Post HP slate 7 extreme a plain tegra note?

1st option. Remove the first 3 lines so it starts with show_progress... also, I also had issues with TWRP with this portion - I used CWM - I flashed TWRP later, after it was all done.

Post HP slate 7 extreme a plain tegra note?

Just had to redo it all... worked - rooted 4.4.2 Credits due where deserved. Information assembled from MANY threads plus my own experiences. A few lines changed: First, go back to HP's recovery, do the following: 1.Create a copy of update.zip and navigate to META-INF\com\google\android and...

Post HP slate 7 extreme a plain tegra note?

As I said, it's been a while, but it's doable as I was once at that stage. I wrote a bunch of notes when I went through this all. I'll try to decipher them. However I just found the procedure I used to unroot and revert to stock. It's not mine and I deserve no credit. Hope this helps...

Post HP slate 7 extreme a plain tegra note?

It's been a while but after all my attempts, I managed to get the tablet rooted to 4.4.2, with twrp, fully working and self updating (android). At some point during my rooting attempts, I did manage to reflash the original ROM and start over with the correct twrp (one of them didn't work well...

Stuck at same... I'm kinda stuck at the same place you were... Device is unlocked and I'm rooted (root checker confirms-SU installed), BUT I can't install TWRP from either methods: 1. Flashify says it installed, but I get a "Booting failed" when I try to boot into recovery kernel. 2. Fastboot...

    Post [Q] Slate 7 Extreme root,flash question

Re-write recovery partition? I did flash the modified update.zip but CWM doesn't give me the option to re-write the recovery partition. I go straight to "Install from sdcard complete". How is that re-write done? *Update* All done - Had to select NO to questions on reboot (Replace recovery...

Post HP slate 7 extreme a plain tegra note?

I rooted the device using Nvidia Tegra Note 7 Super Tool 2.2 and the procedures outlined in this thread. It worked fine. *Update*: I did two factory restores (one in CWM and one in android settings) and the device is still rooted and can't flash my updates. I unrooted (SU option). I still...

Post HP slate 7 extreme a plain tegra note?

    4.2.2 rooted - Can't upgrade to 4.3/4.4.2 I'm successfully rooted with 4.2.2 but I want to (and can't) install the HP updates (4.3 and 4.4.2). CWM won't let me: I try to install zip and get: " assert failed" getprop("ro.product.device") == " olive ' || getprop("ro.build.product") == "olive"...

    Post Q&A: [BL1.1] [BL1.2]VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition v7.1.0 [UPDATED - 8/27/11]

Well I'm back to VeganTab 7.1. Every ROM has stronger and weaker points, and for my own needs, this is the one that has the least weaknesses. - Adhoc support is a tremendous plus; advertised by many, but really only working for me here. - RAM at 200+Mb free, - OC to 1400, - smooth and...

Post Q&A: [ROM - 1.2] Flashback - Honeycomb by tlbardelljr

Great ROM. Smooth install, smooth running after 12 hours of installing/restoring. Running lower in RAM (70-80mb) than C&B's Froyo with similar apps setup but still plenty to run smoothly. Inquiries: 1. Still looking for display config/settings (# rows and # lines, etc) 2. Adhoc not working :(...

Post Q&A: [ROM - 1.2] Flashback - Honeycomb by tlbardelljr

Just finished installing. Very smooth install with Option 2. Looks wise, it's quite a step-up from Froy :). Only issue so far, it sees and connects to my adhoc network but no data exchanged with Dolphin and built-in browser... Will continue exploring tomorrow.

Wow, an interesting read of 109 pages. I'm so very impressed with TEK112's constant vigilence and follow-through on his work that i'll be upgrading later today for a first try of Flashback. Keep it up TEK112 and thanks in advance.

    Post Q&A: [BL1.1] [BL1.2]VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition v7.1.0 [UPDATED - 8/27/11]

I also tried just about everything out there and I currently am on a Froyo ROM with its own strenghts and flaws. I remember loving VT7.1 but I can`t recall (or find somehow) if it had ADHOC support. I`m pretty sure it did but since my search attempts always return a "sorry no match", could...

Post Beasty/Clemsyn Ultimate Froyo Combo - Simply THE BEST (1.2 bootloader only)

Thank you :) Fixed Flash indeed. Few more issues: 1. Alarms don't work after I press the Power (screen off) button. Guess the tablet goes into deep sleep even with permanent unlock and keep awake apps running. The only way I can get alarms to work is to dim the screen with an app (superdim...

Great ROM. However: 1. Can't install flash 11 from market or from downloaded apk. Says the "Package file was not signed correctly". 2. Also, Fast Web Installer reports that my gtablet is currently not supported... Any advice?

No adhoc transfers with Vegan-Tab Ginger RC1 I've flashed this ROM 5 times now and ran some tests each time. I can connect to my WMWifirouter adhoc network, get an IP, but there is nothing going through... My understanding is that this rom already has a hacked supplicant. What's my next...

Post Best UI for Omnia 2?

SPB Only tried Samsung native and SPB MS and prefer MS. Cleaned it some to free around 47mb on bootup. Satisfied with features but would love more free RAM. Less lag than native UI. Very open to try lighter UIs so i'll keep reading your inputs :)

Post Dell Axim x51v WM6 (Football Edition)

princess_80854, I had the same SD card issue when upgrading. My 4gb and 2gb SD cards would not initiate the ROM upgrade process. For kicks, I tried a 64mb card I had hanging around, and it worked flawlessly... Same procedure on all cards, clean format and all... Go figure!
