A little late but I wanted to thank you for your advice, I tried it today and it worked perfectly.

You go into the Android settings and do the reset from there or flash TWRP and do it using that.

I figured that I needed the .exe because if you try to flash an official update .zip but the phone system is modded it will fail. So you are telling me that I can flash the RRU .zip with TWRP and it will work?

Yeah, I just saw that yesterday. Its really crazy that you now need more than 1gb ram just for standard Android and how developers feel the need to make apps that always run in the background.

I don't know if it makes a difference but I flashed the .zip on an install I had been running for over a month and cleared cache/delvik after flashing. What app is giving yours issues?

I've restarted it a few times and it seems stable now. The .zip must have fixed it unless somehow those four app developers managed to fix the apps. The only issues left are ones inherent to the rom like the camera being a little wonky and screen casting not working.

You need to use the version skoar uploaded in this thread. The original version of Shakey's kernal won't go past the boot animation on CM. You can just flash it and it will fix it.

If it's the kernel then in theory the issue would be fixed by flashing Shakey's kernel. Dev. said he isn't isn't working on this anymore.

Just an update, it started boot looping today after some apps updated. NOAA Weather Unofficial ended up being culprit, old version worked fine. I can't help but wonder what these apps are trying to access to do that is triggering the issue.

To update, I got it working. After many factory resets I narrowed it down to three apps I had previously installed on my tablet and attempted to install on CM. Ulysse Speedometer, the Spectrum cable app, and Spotify cause the OS to crash and boot loop. Removing these from my install list solved...

Not to discourage anyone but after I first booted up CM It seemed slower than KK. After running it for a few days its confirmed, this ROM is way slower than the stock Kitkat ROM but still better than stock Lollipop. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of promise but it needs a bit more polishing...

Ok, I was just wounding. Pity that Android can't install like Windows or some Linux distros where you use one installation media and the worst thing you usually have to do is install drivers.

I said the shield handheld (roth) not the tablet. It has the Tegra 4 and the same screen res as the tn7

Any chance that it would have been easier to port an official Cyanogenmod release from the Shield handheld or are there too many differences? Thankyou for your work, its about time we got some kind of rom port for this device.

Why can't you OTA upgrade? Also, there have been many issues with 5.1 and you loose the built in screen casting as well as the power controls. If 4.4.2 works good then don't bother upgrading, at least not to the stock 5.1.

I though 4.3 worked the best, way too many patches for 4.4. Currently waiting for the mentioned CM12.1 port.

Not to mention gaining back features that were lost like built in screen casting and performance profiles.
