Download the new AP file from the link below, the previous one had issues with apps crashing on 2ARA1. https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=746010030569958958 When trying to install it flash the BL first and then follow the guide exactly. When you flash the bootloader first your phone should crash...

https://samsung.firmware.science/download?url=48974/1488/SS-G892AUCS2ARA1-to-S2ARB1-UP I think your supposed to use this first before you update to BRB4

Post S8 Active (G892) Oreo OTAs

Are you trying to update to BRB4 from ARA1? Looks like you have to use the 2nd link first to update ARB1, then you should be able to update to BRB4.

So if I'm on 2BRB2 do I have to downgrade to 2ARA1 or is there anyway just to update to the latest firmware? Edit: Actually 2BRB2 has been really stable, might just stay on this one for now

Yes, yes, and yes. The last link in the OP will update you from QL1 to ARA1 if you need to. Probably better just to install through Odin tho. You should be on 2ARA1 to update to BRB3, the latest link tells you what version it updates you from and to. And installing an update.zip will erase...

Very nice, is your phone on V1 or V2? Because I'm pretty sure his V2 ROM is broken, the com.android.phone just keeps crashing whenever I try to follow the guide. And I too program in C/C++ quite often, wasn't really sure where to start on making my own ROMs

NRD90M, 2ARA1. I basically did a dirty flash, do the BL first and boot into stock AP. Set up phone so that the welcome screen doesn't come up again. Then flash the AP from the OP, and don't do a factory data reset or reflash the BL. From there you can use the phone and use a root uninstaller...

Okay so I've made some progress.. I first flashed a stock rom and completed the initial setup to get passed the welcome screen, then I flashed the BL linked in this post and booted the device back up. After that I followed pretty much everything in the guide except for checking the erase NAND...

oh dang, i thought my desktop had 2 usb2.0 ports but apparently they are 3.0, I'm found a 2.0 usb extender that I'm going to try using. First I'm going to reflash stock, then do a factory data reset, then try following the guide again.

I keep getting the same thing, I can't get passed initial setup because that popup keeps coming up and won't let me connect to Wi-Fi to go to the next screen

I noticed there are three files in the folder for 2ARA1, I wonder if the one not linked in the description is the right one, it is also a BL file. androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=248206
