Having this same problem. I've been told before that you must update to all previous firmware in the correct order. But cannot find all files. If anyone can tell us if we can jump from AQF7 to Oreo it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also having this problem. Need to flash the updates through ODIN but I can't find every single stock file leading up to BR9 on this site. Do I really have flash them all? Or is there another way?

Tested this and working on my Sprint G6, thanks alot man. But I know Sprint updates can sometimes disable features, is it likely that the hidden menu will be removed with any new software updates?

I tried the method of unlock in this guide and it also worked, however I am currently on ZV8 and it keeps requesting that I update. If I update to the latest version will this stop working?

Had 8000 feedback so I thought I was safe. He promised to assist me in resetting it tomorrow so I'll just suggest LG UP to him. If all else then hopefully I can get some compensation, though I find it unlikely.

Tried a remote unlock service from eBay, but the person couldn't unlock it with their software. However by the end of it the phone couldn't boot past download mode. He tried several flashing tools but they apparently didn't work because of incorrect dll files.

Alright I'll give it a shot tomorrow when I'm feeling brave. Will report back in case anyone ends up in my situation.

Oh, thank you for the reply. I'm also unsure of what version of firmware was installed on the device, does it matter which one I try to flash? I know that it was running 7.0 however. Do I stand a chance of hard bricking if I flash the wrong version?

Thanks for the replies guys, not sure what the problem was, but I instead toted ZVA and took the OTA updates up to ZVG, worked just fine.

So I was toting back to ZVE on my LS980 to try and get to stock lollipop, but lo and behold I got a 'Failed' error at around 22%, it said it lost connection to the phone. Doing the same steps again it still fails, even earlier this time. Any help?

GSM and CDMA bands are listed seperately I believe. Most global phones made for US networks have all the bands to support global GSM use, just not US GSM use. I've owned 4 of such carrier locked phones and have had no problems. So in China I think you'll be fine.

Just download the latest TWRP zip and flash it while in your current version of TWRP, then reboot.

Latest update is LS980ZVE.

Thanks for your reply, I got it off eBay used. But to anyone else who gets this problem, plug in your phone, it will get irregularly hot while charging, but leave it overnight. You'll wake up with a battery at %100 screen :D I reflashed CM12, and all is well.

Yes, you can use the Sprint G2 with gsm, there is an unlock method on Xda to perm unlock it, or you could flash CloudyG2. I only have 3G in my country and it works perfectly. Not sure if 4G would work, you'd have to check if the bands used on your network are the same as the ones the phone has...

Ok, I tried this out and it works perfectly :D Follow the exact method in the second post. If you installed TWRP with AutoRec you will be on JB bootloader, make sure you use the ZV8 radio, which is the JB radio. For GSM unlock just dial *#*#4636#*#* and select GSM Only. Good day all.
