Actually you don't need root to prevent apps from closing you have to add them to white list in phone manager -> battery -> protected apps. You can also lock them in memory by swyping from top to bottom on specific app in recents menu. screenshots thanks to sokkoban and his blog...

If you have location set to high accuracy check if GPS acceleration is enabled (advanced settings - location services - auxiliary location settings), this option uses wifi even if it's turned off to set location more accurately. I'm not sure if it will help but might as well check it. :)

I don't know how it is in english, but in battery manager there should be something like secured apps where you can prevent apps from closing after screen is off.

When asked if I want to use the smart or quick pulldown (I can't remember which one) I tapped no, but now I can't seem to find the option to re-enable it anywhere. Can anyone help? Also why can't I pulldown the QS by swiping down two times? Instead you have to swipe once, like you normally...

I know where to find these settings, but because the tile is doing nothing it's basically obsolete and it was a rather easier and quicker way to turn on/off data from the quick settings.

After doing a clean flash of latest build I noticed that I can't access advanced settings for mobile data in quick settings. Normally you'd get an option to turn off/on mobile data, but when I click on the tile nothing happens. Same thing occurred in the previous build, not sure if it's only my...

Rizsparky have you flashed full gapps or AIO? If yes, then you have to flash minimal package, because our phones system partition is not big enough. Georgel25 you can just flash BaNkS' gapps, but you won't get the full TheRealDarkSlim experience. And yes, I think it's okay, you can always do...

Grigster it's okay to do dirty flashes when you're updating SlimSaber with new build (of course with respective version - dirty flash 4.3.1 over 4.3.1 etc.). Not when you're coming from another ROM.
