UK user here on GiffGaff - was about to try a manual update of the global ROM, and the system update showed this version (V11.0.1.0.QFGEUXM) available as OTA update. Downloading now and will report back.

Fixed. If it helps anyone else - I wasn't using the S1tool correctly. Clicked on Identify, connected phone as directed, clicked on RESTORE. then have to disconnect & reconnect phone as directed. Then says Restore Complete. Inserted other network SIM - booted phone and prompted for Unlock Code.
