I am trying to flash MIUI coming from CM 7.1.0 but everytime i reboot into recovery it will stay on recovery for a second or two then just reboot the phone back to CM. can someone tell me what the problem is here?

I am running cm 7.1.0 and ever since I flashed my trackpad has not worked right. I can move it around over items but if I press down on it it wont take me into an app or whatever I want it to do. But when in text messaging it will act as if it is stuck and will bring up options in the text entry...

I recently had to get a replacement phone and want to root it like I had my first MT4G. I know I have to downgrade to 2.2.1 as I now have 2.3.4 with the new phone. I have searched and searched and can't find instructions on how to accomplish this. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks, Nick
