Depends what you're looking for. Friend of mine says that my rom is faster than Cyanogen (it's on the front page, Feather Rom). So, if you want long lasting battery life while having performance, I'd check that out.

I believe that a Stock backup is made when you root. Its either that, or after you install clockwork, as my incredible has a stock backup that was made without me knowing, and its a good thing that it did, lol. I've had to use ut a few times now.
