Post [GUIDE] Genymotion | Installing ARM Translation and GApps[Updated Nov.16]

I have been using Genymotion for over a year as an app player with information from this thread serving as a basis for the VM setup. Recently, the app that I was primarily using this setup for recently updated and has since stopped working. I've tracked down the issue to what I think is an...

Post [GUIDE] Nexus 7 (2012) factory image w/root

This is just a matter of how you unzipped the CF-auto-root zip file. On my system, it unzipped with 2 directories: image and tools. I added a note for Windows users to verify the path to the img file... Hopefully that clears things up.

Post [GUIDE] Nexus 7 (2012) factory image w/root

Did you flash or boot it? Sounds like you might have flashed it. Under normal circumstances, flash is the right answer for most bootloader installs, but in this case, you just want to boot the auto-root not save it permanently via flash. Might not be your issue, just a thought.

Post [GUIDE] Nexus 7 (2012) factory image w/root

Yes, unfortunately it does. I wouldn't recommend trying to upgrade without wiping user data. There may be internal changes to the file system and layout that could make a Kit Kat install (4.4.X) incompatible with this. Best to save off your data and start from scratch.

Post [GUIDE] Nexus 7 (2012) factory image w/root

:good: :good::good: I made a mistake on the version number that I listed in my instructions. When I did my N7, I had originally just tried flashing SuperSU via the standard zip file method. The most recent version of SuperSU available in the SuperSU XDA thread is/was 2.19, so I just...

I know a couple people asked for a guide and I didn't see anything concise had been posted (Mods feel free to remove if it's a duplicate.). Things are still a bit fresh, but this should be a short list of steps to perform the upgrade of your Nexus 7 (2012) WiFi to Lollipop. As with other...

That worked like a champ - thanks! No need really to run the script as I'd already done the oem unlock, but booted that kernel and root works now. Thanks!

Post Download Lollipop LRX21P Factory Image for 2012 Nexus 7 WiFi Leaked!

Honestly, if I didn't care about root, I'd be happy as a clam with this build. Works very well. The issue is the increased security from SELinux in the kernel of 5.0 that's causing an issue with installing root.

    Post [BETA][2017.10.01] SuperSU v2.82 SR5

There's 40+ pages of posts here. Can you give me a little bit of a hint? I saw the Google+ post from CF listing the kernels for various devices, but that was only Nexus 5, 2013 Nexus 7 (razor) and ADT-1 for LPX13D. The device I have is the 2012 Nexus 7 (nagasaki) and I just noticed that the...

Any update on compatibility with L (5.0)? I noticed that previous posts in this thread say that the BETA 2.19 works with L, but I'm not able to make it work... I'm sure I'm missing a step somewhere. I just flashed the Google factory image for L onto my 2012 Nexus 7, installed CWM and...

    Post Stock ROM for DInc2?

How does an RUU work? I've only ever used CWM-style ROMs. I don't use Windows as a host computer, if that matters (Linux all the way). Also, for either method (AndyBoneStock or RUU) - will the phone get any subsequent OTAs after?

Ok, so I have my DInc2 running CM7.0.1 that I'm not doing anything with since I upgraded to the Galaxy Nexus. So, I put it up on ebay and sold it with my Otterbox. The issue is that the buyer wants the stock ROM back on the thing, but I can't seem to find the backup I made way back when I...

Just to complete the thread, figured I'd update with what ended up happening (long post, bear with me)... So, as I mentioned previously, about a week or two ago, I'd sent out my phone for repair under the warranty through Best Buy's Black Tie Protection. They said it would take up to 30 days...

Is root still locked for people that have gotten and installed the OTA? I just got the phone as a warranty replacement from Best Buy (from DInc1) and they installed the update for me. Yea, I'm thinking its a hardware issue. I just downloaded Cut the Rope and can consistently get it to reboot/overheat after about 10-15 min of play. Only problem is that I'm not sure if the geniuses at the Best Buy warranty center will notice the S-OFF or not and if so how do I revert that...

I seem to be having an issue with my phone overheating and rebooting. It seems to happen consistently when using navigation or when playing games (I'm hooked on Gem Miner). Always at an inopportune time. To me this seems like a result of bad hardware or something but is it possible that...

I tried installing GV the other day but I got to the end of the setup wizard where it asks for a phone number and couldn't think of what to put there. I believe even on the XOOM there is a "fake" phone number to apply to the settings that gets associated with the data plan. Thoughts?
