    I've actually taken my Nexus 7 to a professional. He tried many different ROMs and Kernels but it to no avail. We tried to lower and raise the CPU clock to see if it would help: it didn't. In my case, it was a 100% hardware/mechanical failure. I didn't have any screen protectors or fancy cases...

    Go to YouTube, type in "nexus 7 phantom touches" and see for yourself. This is a very real and frustrating issue. I'm not here to post crap and lies, I'm here to give people information that phantom touches are most of the time, 80% hardware failure. I'm not asking anyone to RMA their devices...

    I was having the EXACT same problem as shown in the video with my N7. I have no clue how this disappeared with the reflash, as this is clearly a hardware problem. Been issue-free since wednesday. Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app

    I've been without the problem for at least 2 days now. Not entirely sure that the firmware downgrade helped, as I am pretty convinced that this is a hardware failure. We'll see.
