This feature makes for me no sense any more. As far as I understand location mode must be turned on to get the list of avialable WiFi networks and corresponding SSIDs. Thats a new google "feature". Correct me if I am wrong. And since this constraint, I dont want to use this any more.

How did you detache it? Is it permanent? I couldnt find a permanent solution. I am using titanium backup an the scheduler to detache Swiftkey several times per day. Not really a good and reliable solution.

Remapping works. BUT, the remapping works globally. Even if keyboard is not in foreground, remapping is still active. So volume control is not accessible any more. Hotkey definitions seem to be only active, if keyboard is in foreground. Thats exactly how the feature in cyanogen was implemented.
