Thread Tmobile LG G2 - Can't unroot to Jellybean

I have rooted my Tmobile LG g2 and it has kitkat 4.4.2. I want to sell it to a friend and when trying to get it back to stock I only have the 80120E.kdz, so when using the flash it says I have the latest version and will not unroot the phone. I followed the link...

    Post [Q] CURRENT Root/TWRP/SU for D801 since 80120E KDZ

No, I'm completely happy without it. Basically the reason I root my phone is to get rid of the bloatware.

    Post [Q] CURRENT Root/TWRP/SU for D801 since 80120E KDZ

No, I had just done the OTA 2 days ago which messed up my rooted system, so I did a complete factory reset and then did the OTA to bring it up to most current Kitkat 801120E and the above it was I did. The ONLY issue I have found is that my knock knock will turn the screen off, but not turn it...

    Thread [Q] CURRENT Root/TWRP/SU for D801 since 80120E KDZ

This was originally a question, but since no one answered I finally tracked down the info in bits and pieces. Thought I'd post it in case someone else has the issue. These are 3 easy steps to take a Tmobile LG G2 running the current (7/27/14) 80120E KDZ from the OTA, and root your phone...

Post Deleting Ringtones thru Root Explorer

when I try and delete it says I can't because the file is system read only file. Checked properties, but it doesn't show that (like a normal computer property list). So how do you change this so I can delete the stock ringtones which I never use?

Not sure how that happened, as I searched for my device and pulled up that forum before posting. But must be doing something wrong there as well, as I just scolded for the same thing on another post. (which however was in the G2 section).

I really hate when people scold people about being in the right forum when they actual are. I've posted a general G2 question in the General G2 forum. And this question had nothing to do with the LGMOBILEAX file (which I already substituted). It was about the LG R&D not working on an LG G2...

Post LG G2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock)

I have a tmobile LG G2 with kitkat rooted as described under #1 in this thread. When I flashed it back to the d80120a .kdz (because of battery issues), my download mode shows "rooted" but everything else says I'm not. I've tried to redo the instructions from page 1 of this thread (about 5...

Post can't unroot T mobile LG g2 kitkat

    Now I'm confused - I posted this in G2 phone - general discussion - Q&A - isn't that the G2 forum?
  17. L

yes, I read the instructions, as I said I was up to #7 and that's where the Marwin file will not go through.

Post LG G2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock)

okay, so I finally got to method 2, step 7 - ran the Marvin mod - gets 75% through it's start up and then says "please update R&D test tools".... is that one buried somewhere in the 327 pages here?

Post LG G2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock)

Unfortunately not in this case. Ran it as admin, change the file and it let me chose to copy over, but as soon as I clicked yes - "ACCESS DENIED"... double checked that it wasn't read only... so back to square one Update: AH_HA! Stupid antivirus was blocking me.

Post LG G2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock)

Each time I've tried method 1, it tells me it can't find the file when I run .vbs (which I'm running as admin). So I started to do method 2, but here's where I am apparently stupid - wordpad doesn't give the option to save the updated file as FILE, but only as text, rtf, etc. So could someone...

Okay, I somehow rooted my tmobile LG G2 with Kitkat, ran for awhile than did something (don't know what) that removed okay google function from home screen and slowed the google search to a snails pace. So, like an idiot, I thought I'd just put it back to stock with the D80120a.KDZ. rebooted...

Post TMo official KK, OK GOOGLE hotword not working?

Probably sounds stupid here, but what do you mean non-factory 4.4.2? I'm using the current OTA 4.4.2 that was just modified to allow rooting, other than that it's the same as anyone that updated OTA. But again, if it's a required install to get, why would not having it stop the "okay google"...

No, I'm not I was using the LG launcher that came with the rooted kitkat I just installed... I like the LG UI, so if it requires changing that, I'll pass. Thanks for the info. However, I'm still confused as to why "on screen phone" doesn't show up in my settings/general/accessibility. That...

Have updated my Tmobile LG G2 to Kitkat and want to debloat it (as I actually like the LG UI). However everything I google about Rooting just links to Kitkat being available but not how (or if) you can root it. I assume that IORoot22 will only work with 4.2.2, and vroot/kingofroot don't work...

Post [Q] E:Error executing updater binary in zip...

Thanks for that, the old saying: If it was a snake... So As it shows in your post Ville - brings up HTC. So I type LG G2, it gives me a second page that as for the carrier - put in T-Mobile and the only flash it has is 2.6.3.2 (which I already had)... there are no other listings for T-Mobile.

Sorry for not mentioning that part as well. Went to the TWRP site and see NO SEARCH ENGINE, nor anything there that says Ville. Nor Googling TWRP ville.

Post [GUIDE] INSTALLING TWRP on LGG2 (VZW, AT&T, TMobile, KT, d802, others) [UPDATED]

Which part did you just try? This is what I did 1)root using ioroot 2)do a factory reset 3) get Freegee from playstore 4) once freegee is up, ask it to load CWM (there are 2 I took the newest one) 5)Power off and manually reboot - this will take you to CWM

Post [GUIDE] INSTALLING TWRP on LGG2 (VZW, AT&T, TMobile, KT, d802, others) [UPDATED]

Thanks... CWM did work... unfortunately I still had the UI as LG G2 has that stupid Volume/power button on the back (who thought that was a good idea???). But apparently if I want to check out roms I'm stuck with it. Does kind of make me wonder why TWRP's update is worst at modding than it...

Post [GUIDE] INSTALLING TWRP on LGG2 (VZW, AT&T, TMobile, KT, d802, others) [UPDATED]

appreciate the quick response. Two things: Do I need freegee if I'm already rooted and running a recovery system, as well as having goo manager and flashify. Second thing, is CWM the only way to do this (as I really like the UI of twrp).

Post Closest ROM to stock 4.4?

Read today that LG will put out 4.4.2 end of q1, I assume that means we won't actually see the official version for G2 until sometime in April. But since there are so many people modifying it already, isn't there a way to get a stripped down version (with out all the mods that cause glitches)...
