Post [APP][5.0+] FairEmail - Fully featured, open source, privacy oriented email app

@M66B there is a small cosmetic bug on the display tab, the "Light themes only" should be under the beige background option, not the shadow one. Really minor but could lead to questions.

Post [APP][5.0+] FairEmail - Fully featured, open source, privacy oriented email app

I mean, the message isn't moved at all because it isn't read. Its a bit confusing, even more when not threading, because you select "archive after sent" but nothing happens because the message wasn't read in the first place. I think the conscious choice of selecting "archive after sent" should...

Post [APP][5.0+] FairEmail - Fully featured, open source, privacy oriented email app

I agree, I myself have disabled the mark read on expanding, but I also have auto-mark read on move. With those settings, the auto-archive feature is useless, even if I willingly chose to move that particular message to archive on send. Maybe the auto-mark read on move should be taken into account?

Post [APP][5.0+] FairEmail - Fully featured, open source, privacy oriented email app

@M66B about the auto-archive feature on send, I think the message that is being replied/forwarded should be archived and mark read no matter if it was read or not in the first place. Logically, if you reply/forward a message, you obviously have read it and are willing to move it to archive since...

Post [APP][5.0+] FairEmail - Fully featured, open source, privacy oriented email app

I agree, I keep all my personal mail which accounts for about 20% of total traffic. Of the 80% work mail, 90% ends up in the trash because I have no use for it later (information that I've read, questions from coworker, etc.). But that's my personal use case and I understand if you don't want to...

Post [APP][5.0+] FairEmail - Fully featured, open source, privacy oriented email app

How about the option to trash on sent too? Most of the time I end up trashing the original mail rather than archiving it (for example questions from coworkers I don't need to keep)?

I think the default accent color really comes down to what you, the developer, likes best. It's easy enough to try them all and decide what you prefer. I do think though that it should "Follow system" by default for the light/dark theme. For the sake of it, I use dark grey :)

I like to think things through, I guess it's my physicist background :), but you are clearly a couple steps ahead so I apologize if I'm slowing you down. What I question really is the usefulness of the Classify new messages in this folder. If I understand correctly, this serves 2 purposes, 1)...

Post [APP][5.0+] FairEmail - Fully featured, open source, privacy oriented email app

I agree. It's not easy to make, but the easiest thing for the end user would be for example to have only one switch in Spam, which should automatically turn on listening mode for both Inbox and Spam and allow classified messages to be moved in the Spam folder. Classification in the Inbox appears...

Post [APP][5.0+] FairEmail - Fully featured, open source, privacy oriented email app

Thanks, it makes sense. In this case maybe it should always be on and disabled (no user action possible) in Inbox and Spam, because turning it off will hinder the classification? Or hidden completely for that matter. People might think (I did at some point) that there are 2 options, one to move...

Post [APP][5.0+] FairEmail - Fully featured, open source, privacy oriented email app

@M66B if I remember correctly, messages won't be classified out of the Spam folder. If that's really the case, maybe the option to classify messages should be hidden in the Spam folder options to avoid confusion?

Post [APP][5.0+] FairEmail - Fully featured, open source, privacy oriented email app

@M66B, I saw in the commit history that classification was a pro feature at some point and now it's free. I believe it really is a premium feature and could easily be made a pro feature again. Even local spam folder should be pro IMHO. Anyway, just my 2 cents :)

Post [APP][5.0+] FairEmail - Fully featured, open source, privacy oriented email app

So declassifying a message will remove the icon too? Also, I guess messages in the Spam folder already moved by the server won't train FairEmail, right? That will make it a lot harder to train FairEmail to trash spam messages automatically because most messages end up correctly in Spam because...

Post [APP][5.0+] FairEmail - Fully featured, open source, privacy oriented email app

I understand your reticence Marcel, but I agree with @fraschi51 that it would be useful to have some way of telling that a message was auto-classified. I intend to use it mostly for Spam, so it won't be clear if the message was moved there by the server or by FairEmail (unless looking at the...

Thanks @M66B for this new release. I'm very intrigued by the auto-classify feature 😃, I've looked a bit through the code, but I still have a few questions. First, will the auto-move mark the message as read if this option is enabled in behavior? It seems to rely on the MOVE EntityOperation, and...

Strangely, the FairEmail notification always says Monitoring 0 accounts now, but all 3 accounts are working fine. Some Gmail messages arrived late, but it might have been a one-time thing. I'll let you know if it happens again. Thanks for the release!

M66B, I just noticed that the "Limit parallel database access" was enabled, and I don't recall changing that setting myself. Is it something that you changed in the recent updates? If only a small IQ test was mandatory before allowing to download or review, you would have a 5-flat star rating. I mean, you really have to be dumb not to see how powerful and otherwise well-thought and put-together this app is. It truly is amazing, not to mention the stellar support you...

M66B, are you still working on rendering tables in the reformatted view? The most recent version adds a lot of useless newlines between each entries. I'm using parse_classes now :) Maybe the previous behavior could be achieved in the current implementation? I can send you an example if you...

I remember seeing something about notification first, but I can't seem to find it again. So you're saying it's working fine on your side? I don't think I've changed anything related to that in my own builds. How can we go about that? Do you want me to catch a log after opening a new message...

M66B I think I have found a very minor bug, I report it nonetheless but it really isn't a priority. When opening a new message from the notification, the previous/next arrows on the navigation bar are reversed. I can't use the "previous" button but I can use the "next" one, as if the new...

Sorry, I just built the latest version and the tables are fine. The problem I had was present on 1.380. As for the signature's extra newline, they are still there for me. I just sent you a raw message. Thanks for your time and dedication!

Personally, I prefer the old way of showing tables. Information that are related to each other are on the same line, so displaying...

M66B, since you seem to be working on whitespace and newline in the reformatted text, I want to let you know that signatures always seem to add extra newline between each line. For example Mr. X Director Company Y Looks like Mr. X Director Company Y It's like that for my own signature as...

Post [APP][5.0+] FairEmail - Fully featured, open source, privacy oriented email app

Hey M66B, would you consider adding a new line if there isn't one already before the signature is appended because when I forget to add it manually in the message body, the signature goes straight after the body. I know I could add a newline at the beginning of my signature to prevent this, but...

Thread Flip to shhh not working

Hi everyone, I've noticed recently that flip to shhh will only work if the phone is NOT on a perfectly level surface. If I use it on my desk for example, it won't work (no vibration to indicate it has turned on). If I slightly tilt the phone, flip to shhh kicks in. Letting go of the phone...

M66B I'm not 100% sure, but I believe there was a small icon that appeared next to the subject for forwarded messages (there is one for replied messages for sure). M66B sorry for the late reply, I'm on vacations :) Definitively not as bad as anything after beta 3, but it still feels a bit choppy on the first scroll down. After that, it's smooth, as if it had to load the views once to get smooth scrolling. I can live with that. Thanks for this update!

I could live with the monospace font, but for me the size is always small, no matter the selected text size. That looks weird with Large text size and a bit off with Normal text size. I think it would look better if everything had the same size. I understand, but it looks weird when the...

M66B, very nice addition! Some thoughts: - Numbers should have the same typeface/color/size of the selected text (or fallback to some defaults when none are selected).
