I personally have never heard of anyone flashing TWRP through magisk.

This isn't a magisk module. The installer is a twrp package. If you don't have twrp you will need to start with fastboot. I'm sure there are good instructions in the first posts that explain.

Ah, you're just looking to update your base so you can just flash a custom room right back over? Then your rom builder probably recommends that then. I just generally see way too much over flashing of things when it's not really necessary...

Yes slider works. I use official twrp.

Clean flash over 9.0.6 here, not that that prob made any difference. I also messed up and had to format data in the process. Either way, you might have just had a bad install.

Definitely is smooth for me. Not getting the app lags so far. No heat issues that I've noticed. Amazon works fine here. Maybe you should try a clean flash? :confused:

Pretty good so far. Still feeling it out but I can say it's certainly smooth and stable.

I have had this phone since launch, had many different roms, many different setups (mostly OOS lately) and one problem I've never had was a WiFi problem. I am on WiFi 95% of the time. Could you be more specific?

the first post in that thread yes. I just use the "flash-all" script. It will wipe everything and you will be completely stock, so back up your sdcard contents as needed.

if all else fails, you may want to fastboot flash latest OOS and start completely fresh. That is exactly what I had to do to run This mod. It was worth it...

yikes why would you do all of that? Just install new TWRP, install magisk after (if you use it) and done... at least that's what I just did.

I had the same problem. I ended up fastboot flashing stock 9.0.4 ROM and starting fresh and it installed fine. Must have been a remnant of a mod or something that it didn't like. I tried a data wipe but did not try wiping storage too. I figured at this point i'll just fastboot flash and be...

I guess I should say, Spotify works fine once it's connected. I just prefer to get in my car and it connect automagically and start playing and I don't want to do anything. That is not the case most of the time. I usually have to initiate the connection. I sometimes just push a couple of buttons...

yes they are aggressive... This adjustment also helps reliability of Spotify connecting to my car bluetooth. I guess it's the reason battery life is so good on stock ROM, but it can be annoying in certain cases.

I had the same problems but not any more. I turned off battery optimization for the app, turned off advanced battery optimizations, and locked it in recents.

You might could try dirty flashing your ROM and then try Magisk again. You could have something jacked up. (of course don't forget about TWRP if you go dirty flashing your ROM)

I have already had Magisk 18.1 on stock 9.0.3 and it was fine. I upgraded from Magisk 18 through Magisk manager.

Now it wouldn't make much sense if a new build wasn't on the most recent security patches respective to the build date.

Hold up... don't get hurt.... just because you think something sucks doesn't mean everyone else has to, and it doesn't make it true. There is plenty of good feedback in the accessories section as I pointed out. I'm not trying to come at you, just letting the guy who asked the question know that...

Not true There are a couple of screen protector threads in the accessories section. Maybe you should check there

I don't see why not. Manufacturers aren't making huge advances these days in mobile tech as far as performance. It's all about gadget features now. Well start seeing cool folding tech this year, but I don't well see anything at all that is going to severely out perform what we have. I won't go...

No issue for me at all with updating to 9.0.3 and installing magisk. (using latest official twrp, and magisk 18 and coming from 9.0.2)
