I would double check you don't have a corrupt download, the command is correct but the image you are trying to flash is too large If it's a stock image seems unlikely to have an issue unless bad download but if you changed anything within bootloader this could happen as well

There may be ways with dirty cow for a permanent root, you could discuss with that guy who made the app you used or within the other dirty cow threads (this doesn't require an app it's just for ease of use) But unfortunately you won't be able to use fastboot to unlock
