No, I have not had that issue. Just reboot it and it should return to normal.

I agree, both loudspeaker and earphone volume is to high/loud. I don't know how to change this myself, so in the meantime I just lower the volume. This can probably easily be fixed by changing a value in the mixerpath file, but I'll only get around to try later.

I use the same Gapps. I did not get any errors, but I got stuck in the boot animation. Flashing the 27 September nightly again fixed my issue.

To the best of my knowledge, no. I think he said that it will not work correctly when flashed with the wrong version of CM/GearCM, and that a proper implementation from the start would be better.

I'm still using the nightly from 27 September in conjunction with the RJIL wakelock fix as well as gekkehenkie11's audiomod to fix the calls. This setup works reasonably well with the echo being my primary concern. I'll make the move to GearCM when Alberto96 releases his long awaited update...

All modems are stock modems - just for different regions. It seems like we are using the same modem in any case, so I would guess that the specific modem does not contribute to the call issues. Maybe our different outcomes is the result of our different networks?

I think I'm going to revert to the nightly from 2014/09/27 - with that build, in combination with Gekkehenkie's call fix and RIL wakelock fix, I only have the echo to worry about. Apart from the echo, calls work just fine and there are no camera issues either.

It's used for noise cancelling, without a doubt. Disabling it might result is slightly more noisy phone calls, but I'm sure it'll be better than the echo. Alberto, Gekkehenkie, is this possible to do?

I also suspect the issue has to do with the top mic not functioning properly. Maybe Gekkehenkie can reverse engineer the driver in TW to compare to ours?

Thanks, please test it yourself and report back. The echo seems to be louder when the speaker volume on the i9500 is increased. I also found out that deselecting noise suppression in phone/call settings does not change the problem. Also, using headphones eliminates the echo problem.

I flashed the DDUFNI1 modem as you suggested. Unfortunately, the echo remains. However, I'm using a September CM nightly build, while you're using GearCM. This is very interesting. I wonder why you don't have the echo problem while some of us do?

Well, I can tell you that I'm getting very good battery life with the CM nightly from September + your RIL wakelock fix. This is comparable to battery life with stock TW. After 24 hours of stand by time and 2h23 of SOT, I have 48% left.
