I've tried both those, but still no luck. Thanks for ideas though. GPS Status has an option to copy NMEA messages to logcat, and when I use that I can see GPxxx messages being received, but it still gets no satellites. I guess I should try to read them, they might tell me what the gps receiver...

You have to be running a sense rom for the unlock to work, as I found. Take a fresh nandroid backup, restore your original sense rom (or presumably you could install another one from xda), run the unlock procedure, then restore the backup you took earlier.

I'm not sure why you'd want to - the 'sdcard' is emulated, and provided from the same 32gb that apps are installed into anyway. When you install an app, the space available on the sdcard reduces. Moving the app to the sdcard doesn't gain you anything. If you really want to push things around...

ah - sorry - forgot you'd need to get through the magldr screen to even start recovery, and that needs the volume keys too. Anyone got any ideas how to start recovery without using the volume controls? I've never had any luck selecting 'recovery' on the android reboot menu, either.

If you can install a touch recovery via fastboot, you should be able to drive it with the touch screen and avoid the need for volume keys. More details here and here.

2GB was the largest the old SD readers could cope with, so I'm afraid it still doesn't prove your readers can handle the newer SDHC (>2GB) standard. I'd be tempted to order a USB SDHC reader anyway, as they're so cheap now, but I guess you'll find out soon enough when your 8gb card arrives ;)

could it be your pc's card reader doesn't support large (SDHC) cards? You can pick up an SDHC reader on ebay for £1, then repartition in minitool or whatever.

When I was getting SoDs I was also using an a2sd script (link2sd), but they stopped happening when I installed SetCPU to increase the clock speed coming out of sleep mode. My SD card is a SanDisk class 4, so not that fast really, but I still run link2sd and I have a swap partition on it too now...

This is known as the 'sleep of death' (SOD) problem. The solution for me was to reduce the underclocking when coming out of sleep mode. If you search back in this thread you will be able to find the discussions that led us to that conclusion.

Could it be file system corruption on the sd card? There might be a way of doing this in android directly, but I'd try fixing it by putting the sd card in a pc card reader and running chkdsk on it.

I had the same problem running link2sd after upgrading the rom. I fixed it in the end by running link2sd's 'relink all application files', 'relink library files', 'link dalvik-cache files' and clean-up options, then reboot and repeat until nothing else moves across. This moved enough stuff off...
