Well, thank you for your Xoom Heaven...it should be the 1st stop on the xda Xoom journey. It's good to see that this thread is getting some attention. ADB commands are the core basics for the Xoom before you get all rooted and fully up and running.
Still glad you put together this guide! ^^
Yes! That is the root file I've linked to.just wanting to verify that this guide and files included are for the universal rooting method?
thanks.
Don't feel bad. It is a bit complex and usually we mess-up on the simply stuff. Anyway, I'm so glad you got it!ok, well i sorted it, probably a dumb basic thing to mess up on but will post here in case others do the same.
my prob was that i didnt change the directory in the command window and point it where the .img file was before typing the "fastboot flash recovery".
Can anyone help me with this? I keep getting the same error message!
error: cannot load "fastboot flash recovery recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150-cwm.img"
I have been at it for hours!!
I 'm pretty sure I fixed that...I wonder where he got the "tiamat" recovery from. Please use the command: fastboot flash recovery recovery-solarnz-100611-1150.img
You will want to rename the img file to recovery-solarnz-100611-1150 for it to work properly using the command provided above.

Yes. The Universal Xoom Root will work with any update and so will the other files. Good luck!Getting ready to root, just picked up a xoom, question though, mine has 3.2.1 installed will this work with it? Thanks
Thanks...this has really been a group effort. I'm glad it's helpful.Thank you! Worked like a champ... with all the How-tos around, this was by far the best and easiest to follow.
Great work re-capping the information.
on solarnz recovery, you will only lose the user apps and data, which can be restored fully through Titanium Backup. Your media files will not be touched. Are the contents of /mnt/sdcard lost in the wipe and need to be restored, or do they remain as they are?
Thanks
"The green bot of !
there is one problem that exists with all xoom roots/cwm hacks. I had this problem as well as a bunch of other people when trying to flash CWM. If these files are present after an OTA update, then your xoom when entering recovery will show the green android robot with a exclaimation point instead of CWM.

Or, if you do not already have root on your xoom when you get the green bot of ! then you have to do the following with the stock moto files for your device (from moto dev).
(This Wipes your Xoom )
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot -w
fastboot reboot
