TUNE-UP & BATTERY TIPS:

1) Set default network mode to GMS Auto (PRL) to minimize power use: (GSM networks only)
Type *#*#4636#*#* then tap "Phone information", scroll down and change "WCDMA preferred" to "GSM auto (PRL)"
2) Disable all window animations - goto "Settings", "Display", set Animation to "No window animations are shown".
3) Optimize storage for better IO (defrag) - goto "Settings", "SD & phone storage", tap Optimize storage.
4) Disable vibration key feedback - disable in "Language & keyboard" and "Sound" settings.
5) Defragment your fat32 partition, this is very important when you have plenty of files stored in sdcard.
You will be surprised with the increase in speed after doing this.
6) Charge using a real Htc charger and not from a computer usb port (the later easily drains).
7) Turn off wifi, mobile data, gps, bluetooth when not in use.
8) Limit the number of widgets on your homescreen, it consumes batery.
9) Disable fastboot, disable Scheduled Software Update, disable Location Service if you're not using it.
10) Disable auto sync if possible.
11) Do not overload your phone with too many apps. Only install what you will use.

Hello Everyone! Presenting the very first rom I have ever successfully cooked.

Well, first of all let me tell you that I am not a Dev (as of now).
So this is a pretty basic rom, please don't expect much.
I did not even integrate a custom kernel, so you have to install one for yourself if you need to. (using Cake - works fine)
The objective is to provide you with a latest rooted stock rom, with all the default HTC Wildfire S apps intact.
If you're a sense lover then this one's for you.

So here are the features:

* Based on Gingerbread 2.3.5 - Build 2.26.401.3 - Sense 3.5 (latest Euro update)
* Rooted (old basic way, so getting su permission is a bit different than you usually see)
* Busybox installed
* Zipalligned
* Init.d scripts enabled
* Odex

That's it! No further changes. All HTC apps, widgets, ringtones, wallpapers, etc are intact.

Requirements:
* S-Off or Bootloader Unlocked
* CWM Installled

How to Install this Rom:
1. Save rom in sdcard.
2. Boot into recovery.
3. Wipe data/factory reset.
4. Wipe cache.
5. Wipe dalvik.
6. Install zip from sdcard.
7. Reboot and wait until your phone totally boots up.

All credits goes to dsixda's for his amazing Android Kitchen.

Disclaimer:

Although this rom is very basic, I cannot guaranty 100% that it will work with your phone.
Therefore please do a nandroid backup before flashing. Use it at your own risk.

Download:

kimsMod.1

Future Plans:
Custom kernel, flashable addons, additional built-in apps

I'm not really sure if somebody will like this rom, if you do please click thanks.

Uh, dude, we have a semi-fully-working ics, so why you build a rom based on gingerbread? o_O

As i've said, i'm no dev (as of now), but I have to start somewhere. Latest official wfs update is the most logical rom to begin with.

And as what you said, "we have a semi-fully-working ics". Maybe when i have gained enough knowledge in porting roms.

Is it overclockable

Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using xda premium

As mentioned in my original post, it's rooted but a custom kernel is not integrated. So in order to overclock you have to install an overclock kernel like Cake or Dust or any other you can find in the threads.

By the way, any of you who plans to install a custom kernel, install an overclock app first such as "No-Frills Cpu" and set max frequency to a lower value such as 600mhz before flashing the new kernel. It will prevent your phone from freezing if your cpu cannot handle the default frequency of the new kernel.

Thanks for this. I was meaning to revert to a stock ROM to rip some default ringtones and walls. If you want a pro tip if your a new dev then open up build.prop and play around with some settings :D

    Hi Guys

    My goodness I missed this. I'm really sorry, I've been busy with my work.
    Next version "to be" is sitting there in the kitchen for 2 weeks now.
    But I haven't tested it so I'm not gonna realease it yet.

    Thanks everyone. Glad to see your still following, it keeps me going.
