I want to present to you the Helly_Bean ROM by DerTeufel1980. The following description is taken from his original thread over in the i9000 section. You can find his thread here:

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1775169

Many thanks, to pawitp, FaultExeption, Jt1134, be18 and all the other people who commit to gerrit. without these, this rom wouldn't be possible

you can find the official website for this projekt here
http://www.hellybean.com/index.html

you'll find download links and faq on this site.

Install instructions:

if you want the rom to be installed with voodoo color kernel instead of the default one, just create a folder called devil at your sdcard, and place an empty file named voodoo_color in this folder. Then just install the rom as followed below

if you are coming from any other rom, your /system, /data and /datadata get wiped automatically

coming from any other rom:
- make sure to have gingerbread bootloaders
- flash allinone.zip
- reboot recovery
- flash allinone.zip again
- flash gapps

if you are coming from a previous version, older than 08/28 your data will get wiped due to new partition layout!
coming from previous version:
- flash allinone.zip

Differences to cm10:
- optimized partition layout to avoid low storage notification and also give the maximum performance:
* 400 mb /system
* 1,3 gb /data
* 420 mb /datadata
- devil kernel apps reachable from system settings
- facebook sync integrated
- option to enable high end gfx effects
- possibility to activate and customize navigation bar

many thanks to:
- be18
- mkalter, who got the first running jb rom :)
- elitemovil (who was the first who got gsm working)
- stratosk (from who's initramfs i could start build my first jb booting kernel)
- teamhacksung/pawitp for the rom sources
- team nyx who always have good tips for me, if i get problems with my kernel
- SysTem-X for hosting
- Rootax for hosting
- RolluS for hosting
- many thanks also to the other people who have created mirrors

- if i have forgotten you, please pn me

followed instructions, keep getting "Unfortunately, gingerbread keyboard has stopped". Have reflashed and issue persists.

Can you flash this right over CM9? I thought if your filesystem was mtd and you flashed something not MTD you would be screwed, so I guess the better question is, is this MTD? haha

correct i don't use it but i asked a simple question problem ?

It seems that the gingerbread keyboard is the only available option. Have reflashed gaaps package with no luck.

I should note that I flashed straight from CM9. Do I need to flash V1 and V2 incrementally?

Since I'm at work, I need to wait for the actual port and not build it myself from the I9000 one....

    *waits semi-patiently for V9*

Here this is my version with the modified updater-script & the modified addon (faceunlock less)

    CM10 V9
    CM10 Addon V8b

Flash Cappy kernel!!!. My repackage came from i9000 and you will get reversed button as it does not contain a cappy kernel inside.
    Devil3_1.0.4_datadata_cappy_CFS_BLN_CMC_20120727
    Devil3_1.0.4_datadata_cappy_CFS_BLN_VC_20120727

i have uploaded the new version.

to save some time by uploading, the rom is more modular now. due to this, new install instractions:

    coming from any other rom:
    - wipe data/factory reset
    - flash initial package (this installes just a i9000 kernel for resizing the partitions)
    - reboot recovery (for captivate and vibrant, some keys now might work differently)
    - flash helly_bean_basement (this is all the same for all devices)
    - flash helly_bean_xxx (where xxx stands for your device, this installs all device specific files + kernel)
    - flash Helly_Bean_AddOn

    coming from previous version:
    - flash helly_bean_basement (this is all the same for all devices)
    - flash helly_bean_xxx (where xxx stands for your device, this installs all device specific files + kernel)
    - flash Helly_Bean_AddOn
