Sometimes stuff just happens. Links get broken......hard drives meltdown. Occasionally people just forget or lose track of where they file things. I do too!

SO, while I still know where all this stuff is I thought I'd do my best to make all this really GREAT work that has been created for this little powerhouse phone we all love so much available to everyone just in case you can't get to it anymore. Now I KNOW that most of this is still downloadable thru XDA and some other sites......but a good bit isn't anymore. As time goes on probably MOST of it won't be for one reason or another. Hopefully, that is when this thread will become more valuable to everyone concerned.

VERY, very little of the things I'm going to be linking here are mine but I intend to make that grow as I learn. Right now they're just some splash screens I've done with a few other pics if you happen to be inspired to create some of your own. The other IMPORTANT items are the amazing ROMs! Those I have Included the name of the developer and to them goes ALL the credit and indescribable GRATITUDE.....from us ALL.

There is a tool or two I have included but the coder that created them has escaped me & I didn't record them so I hope including a link to them breaks no rules. If I can run them down later or anyone recognizes them I will give due credit.

The Best ROMs on the Net!

NOTE: This post is not intended to provide an easy download without first researching the original ROM thread by the developer. You'll be most likely to find the answer to all your questions there PLUS quicker access from the developer themselves. This is intended to offer a place to download what you've just read about and you find the link broken.

Secondary patches & fixes by Riyal & SunDream:

Unofficial All Inclusive Patch ....This flashable will install all of the individual patches at one time and save you plenty of downloads and effort on your part. But it will also take you to a "clean install" state with your organization of apps & widgets on your homescreens compromised. It did for me anyway & I tried it twice just to make sure. As with everything mentioned though...YMMV.

Crazy long post lol. Nice though; I'm especially fond of the previews.
LOL. It's going to get muuuuch longer.......

Now I'm finally back to fulfill that promise with some extra special boot splashes that you GUYS are going to love...or at least I believe you will. They look great on any DoubleShot they go on but I don't think your wives/girlfriends will appreciate them as much as you do....although some will, I'm sure. At the bottom of this post I am also including the entire group in a perfectly sized, unaltered self extracting executable.

What I did was select some great shots & resize them to 480 x 800 pixels and save them for you four shots to a sheet. THESE are designed specifically for our MyTouch 4G Slides. All you will need to do is view them & find a group you would like to use one or two out of. Select 'save as" and send it to a folder you want to work from. Navigate to it with Windows Explorer....right click on the file......then open in Windows Paint. Use the rectangle "select tool" and carefully window around the visible frame. You will see at the bottom right of the program frame the total file frame size. (1000 x 2000) pixels. To the left is the size shot you are capturing. (480 x 800) pixels When you like it....save as the format you like....and you have your boot splash image. Drop it into TrueBlue_Drew's Splash Flasher....flash it and ENJOY!

GENERAL INFORMATION

By-Passing Tmobile's Data Limiting on Wifi Tether....
Over time there have been several methods that this could be accomplished with but all of those doors have been plugged now......except for This One. Thank you to YellowJacket1981 for this invaluable information located in post #3!

The EASIEST Method For Installing BareBones ADB & It's Usage
I know there are quite a few guides for doing this scattered about but if you know NOTHING about ADB THIS is the most foolproof way I've found to get going. Your call though....

Oh Yes You CAN Go Back to S-On Again From S-Off!
All You have to do is follow This Link to Blue6IX's Developement Thread to find out all you need to know.

Have You Ever Wanted to Unlock Your Sim Card?
Just follow This Link to a great discussion with links to the decidedly best resolution to the question of "How-To".

Need to Know How to Make a Logcat?
If you follow This Link, ac3theone has written a great guide for you.
You can also expand on this knowledge if you take a trip over to JellyTime!

Thanks!

My blessing is given towards mirroring anything I've done.

We learned a lesson from megaupload, it went down out of the blue and an untold number of unique software, tweaks and homebrew solutions were lost, some never to be recovered or even remembered.

Replication builds availability much like repitition builds memory.

Forum thanks inbound when I get the chance, beyond written thanks here.

Man you really have a ton of files lol. You remind me of an evo shift user who keeps everything he downloads, and saved my whole entire shift development when my old tower went down. I was so bummed when I had to tell the users I lost EVERYTHING. But I had forgot I shared my dev folder with him so he could see everything I was up to ( he's now my team member ). Well he kept it safe and it was like I never missed a beat. He was also someone I spent many hours with on gtalk teaching him everything I knew/know because to me Android will stop and so will xda when users stop sharing what they know, and we've all seen a spurt of developers that protect code/mods ( kinda like look at what I can do but I don't want no one to do it/better ) anyways thanks for posting all these files again.

 I am a bit of a file packrat aren't I? Kinda always been like that every since I got my first computer back in 1992. Now that storage space has gotten so cheap I think I've gotten worse, at least with things I consider important. I keep every CD I own ripped to 2 computers & a standalone hard drive. Every AutoCad drawing of any consequence and EVERY houseplan I've ever drawn for 15+ years I have backed up still. It's all come in very handy over the years. Other than about 10 or 12 pieces of software that I use regularly that's about all I've every kept up with. ;)

But NOW? What else could be MORE important than all this amazing work that you developers have produced since I have come here....and continue to selflessly turn out & share with ALL of us. I just wish now that I had downloaded more but what I DO have, I have backed up @ work, on my home laptop, my desktop & a portable hard drive so it IS safe. You developers have the power to create and thankfully some of us have the foresight to "back you up". :);):good:

Edit: BTW....I have almost as much on the HTC Evo4G (I manage one for a dear friend) & quite a little bit for the Viewsonic GTablet. :D ;)

All of our thanks to YOU Blue! The time you have taken and the efforts you have put forth to help educate everyone and ESPECIALLY us noobs is nothing short of spectacular. For the things I have and continue to learn from your guides, explainations and always informative posts, I will be FOREVER in your debt.

You have been sadly missed around here but thank God you are OK and returning to good health. We always look forward to your inevitable return, my brother.:good:

I'm on my last break, in a few hours my workweek is over and I'm driving home. When I get in tonight, I'll get my hard drives out of storage and bring my laptop back with me.

Stores I am working in have wifi, so I'll start going through what I have and getting the obscure stuff put up.

I was doing some of the same before, but let a lot sit because I didn't have time to track down the original devs and get permission to mirror.

When megaupload went down I had a copy of fr3vo I tracked down the dev for, temproot was (still is) a vital tool for getting cwm on non-updated devices.

I'll see what I got and if people with more time then I can track down permissions to source, I'll add to the pot for sure.

Gimme a few days or so to start going through it. I only have very limited time over the weekends when I go home, but have some time to sort through stuff at the hotel off shift during the week.

I hope you encourage others to dust the cobwebs off old stuff they may have lying around...

by any chance, do you have the latest hboot version, "insecureDS" would be in purple in-replacement in the bootloader menu? :D
It isn't something I've run across or heard discussed but you can bet IF I do, it will be here or a link added directly to this response.

Edit: After a bit of research I came across this post by edwardng and Blue6IX's response with several links that may shed some light on what you're looking for or maybe shouldn't be...... http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=22726040 It may be that I'm not understanding what you're asking for since I've not heard of it but possibly someone will chime in that has.

It's not really very obvious is it? The way I have them delineated is the ROM first and any associated patches, apps or utilities that were originally released with that ROM are directly under it....and then seperated by the next ROM. But, that particular patch was supposedly just for Undead's ICS ROM it's under. That's not to say it won't work with another in case the one noevoman posted for us doesn't work for you. It may be we now have two choices. BTW...I appreciate the added info about Awesome Beats.... that's AWESOME!

Great work but...

Thanks so much for mirroring all those files man!! Great work!!

But... I have experienced unexpected download stops from that website. I think it's the browser i'm using (Google Chrome v.21.0.1180.83)

For example: if it's a 50mb file it starts perfectly fine and then stops around 9mb all of sudden. Weird bug on Chrome i guess.

Thanks again for this :D

It sounds like your theory is probaby right about your browser. And if it's directly to your phone, sometimes that alone can be a bit twitchy. I've done 6 or 7 test downloads and haven't seemed to have any issues using Win 7 Explorer 8 directly to my laptop. Why don't you give that or another browser a try and give us a heads up on how it goes for you.

OH......and Your Welcome. :good:

Yep. That was exactly what happened. I switched to firefox and all downloads are perfectly fine...
