Ty for the help and I got it finally. I just had to restart my computer cause the cmd and other stuff had been running for awhile. Just got root the ****ty original att ruu and gonna download viper later tonight ;) oh and I figured out all the cmd commands. Took long enough lol

Go to recovery (twrp), wipe> factory reset (or just wipe in the installer/or do both) then flash Viper.zip (3.2.3 full rom)..once it boots up, go through the set up process or skip it, then reboot to recovery again and install 3.2.3OTA ... just remember, this wipes your apps too, so use titanium backup to backup apps only

Ok....


I just tried installing the OTA theme update and its stuck on the first part of install...

Tweaks> status bar> status bar themes... you can download new ones from venom hub (located in apps)

Or you can do a dirty flash (reflash rom without wiping)

so first my LED lite goes dim after I flash the previous update. And then my quick status bar disappears at ****ing random. IS THIS ROM LITERALLY SCREWING WITH ME. Seriously like literally? I do not make random changes in settings and stuff randomly dims and disappears. I am about to NOPE the **** out of this ROM real ****ing quick.

And yes I know my ****, the led was not losing power or dimmed. It's back now. --And shortly before this new update hot update my status bar quick config wifi - brightness - etc is RANDOMLY gone literally no changes from me. It was one of those I was never in settings why is it gone.

I have been rooting and rom'ing phones for over two years. ---THIS **** creeps me the **** out, 100% honest. You guys can call bull **** here, but what I am speaking is the 100% truth. Stuff does not "randomly" change on my cell phone. Take it as you read it.

**TL:DR** In my experience CM10 never went rogue with my lights never working or my phone settings randomly changing while it sat at work, charging.

Calm down homie... pull notification bar down, press and hold the date at the top, this toggles the quick settings...


As far as the rest of your problems, you should do a clean install..and make sure you don't restore any system data with tibu

I know it sucks man but take a deep breathe and calm down. This ROM is a little buggy, but another user suggested to do a clean install and a bunch of the bugs are gone for me.

Lets start with that first and let us know how it goes.

Wow, this is one f***ed up post, many users are doing just fine and this comes along. I would definitely take a step back and do it all again clean and see what happens. This Rom is pretty damn solid and most problems are user error or simply needing to clear caches.

I don't really know why anyone would want to help you after such a ridiculous rant. There's plenty of other ROMs out the feel free to go and enjoy them. I am not experiencing any of the issues you speak of, maybe they are user error.

Has anyone experienced the complete removal of the splash screen? I installed the zip for flashscreens from the other thread and it worked great and then this morning I flashed a new radio and it seemed like after this I had no boot screen. It does start up quicker. So my question is how important is the splash screen?

I am sorry you feel it is bull crap and a ROM in progress is acceptable. Right? We got that.

But when when I have not updated and stuff is disappearing or changing? I would say this warrants caution. --I assure you I did not edit and settings with my status bar. I am being serious here. -I realize my posts on here are almost NIL but this is not my first rodeo.

I may have been a bit extreme, I will admit, but care to argue against these changes or modifications without my consent? Can I pocket swipe a change that makes the quick change status bar disappear? I doubt it and this was before the the upgrade came out today or yesterday morning.

Since you are the only one, refusing to keep trying to solve your problem, and thousands of people have installed this without any issue..I'm willing to bet it's ego.. just leave this thread with all your "superior knowledge" ...

I've ran this rom since ics, never had issues like you are describing stick after clean installs.. you are installing something or doing something that you are not mentioning, to the phone after install...


Enjoy cm10, I'll still get better battery and performance out of this rom, and so will many others

    Q: How do I install the rom?!
    A: (Thanks to anarchychris for putting these together)

    ViperXL Install Instructions

    1. Download the the latest ViperXL full ROM zip from the download section
    2. Place the file somewhere on your phone storage
    3. Confirm the MD5 on the download page matches the MD5 of the file on your phone (ES File Explorer will show the MD5 of the file)
    4. Reboot to TWRP Recovery
    5. Backup current ROM if desired
    6. Install ROM using TWRP and select wipe during aroma install if coming from another base
    7. If you have 1.14 hboot you may need to flash the boot.img in fastboot (ViperXL is fastboot 1.14 friendly but in some cases you will need to manually install the Boot.img). You will need to extract the Boot.img from the ROM zip.
    8. Reboot and Enjoy
    You can flash the boot.img before or after flashing the rom. It works either way.

    Helpful Links


    Q: I have a problem with the ROM (FC, Boot Loop, apps closing automatically). How can I get my problem resolved?
    A: First things first. Try wiping data and replicating the issue:
    • Rebooting into Recovery
    • Perform a Nandroid backup (of just Data if you wish)
    • Flash the ROM and select the option to "Wipe Data"
    • Try replicating the issue

    If the problem persists, capture a logcat and send it to me.

    To capture a logcat, If you have fastboot setup, you already have the drivers installed and probably already have adb.exe in the same folder as fastboot.exe:

    • Open the Command Prompt (run it as Administrator if UAC is enabled in Windows)
    • run adb logcat >c:\logcat.txt
    • If it's just not booting, let it run for about 20 seconds. If it's a FC, replicate the FC in this step
    • Press Control-C to stop logging
    • Paste the contents of c:\logcat.txt into http://pastebin.com
    • Post the link here with the problem being experienced
    • Hopefully, I'll have a fix available (assuming I'm not too busy) that others can benefit from.


    Q: Whats the md5 sum thing?
    A: It ensures, that the rom is downloaded correctly and completly to avoid weird issues when installing/using the rom. Google for "md5 sum checker" and you should find what you need.
    ​



    Q: I found a theme or mod, will it work on this rom?
    A: It's NOT recommended to use mod/themes that dont clearly state, that they are compatible with our rom. Thems/Mods always use framework files which will brake mods/stuff in our rom.

    Q: My question is not listed here, what to do?
    A: Ensure you used the xda search, google and your brain before asking a question in the thread. If you cant find an answer yourself we will answer your question for sure! (-:

    Q: My media (pictures, music, etc.) is not listed in the Gallery/HTC Music/etc.
    A: Try rescanning your SDCARD by using an app such as Media Scanner
