Sometimes the easiest way to get an answer is to just ask. I have been as quilty as any one else. I am not a forum policeman nor do I represent sbdags or this forum, but I would like to comment and make a few suggestions that will help us all to enjoy the forum better. Scott and sbdags have been some of the easiest going moderators ive come across. I don't ever remember either one coming down on someone for asking questions. Read some other dev forums and I think you'll see what i mean. This is not a dev. question or this belongs in the??? is not encountered here. I like this openness and appreciate sbdags for his ability to deal with all of us.
There are a few things that I try to do before asking a question and use the tools available.
Search
a recent question raised, had been answered possibly thirty times at least 5 times by me. use the search function for forum and forums. sometimes answer lies else where. There is a lot of things a person leans going through the threads to find an answer to some question. you may learn a lot more than you expect.
very seldom is a problem unique. Somebody somewhere has had the problem and found an answer.
I know search can be a pain and sometimes doesn't work, but there have been many times in answering someone question ive put in lots of time to find an answer for them. Perhaps they could have done the same.
Another pet peeve, thank people for the effort they take to answer your questions. even if they don't. I spent an hour one time and never got a smiley face.
It is my experience most on forums are willing and glad to help. Don't take advantage of them, and the people I enjoy helping the most are the those that help themselves.
try to keep up with the thread particularly on a new rom. I've answered questions recently that had answers later on. my bad
check the general and app sections out in infinity forums. Lots of great info there and infinity general question might better posted in these sections. Clean is a factory based rom and many questions are asus infinity questions not really clean problems.
Don't forget play. A person recently was not getting all the information from his tablet he needed to solve his problem. after several post i said get this. the apps name was the same as his problem. I may not have helped, but I hope i did.
I often get impatient and try to find something i can do right know to help me solve something. Personally i would have solved this problem with other tools available in not much more time than writing post.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. Im not trying to stop the flow of info. Use the forum as a second or third step in problem solving not the first. There are always questions that the forum is the prober place ask. but Try to separate the wheat from the chaff.
there others but dinners on,
